We have a 4 night Disney cruise already booked for December. Family is planning a carnival cruise in September and we thought about doing a day at Disney if we cxld our Disney cruise and did carnival. Wwyd? I've never been to Disney nor have mu girls 1/3 so thought they would like MK. Would you do carnival and a day at Disney or just keep the Disney cruise and no day at the park

Hmmmm.... I've only ever cruised w/Carnival and I thought it was fine. I'm sure the Disney cruise is nicer and, obviously, it's full of characters and "magic." However, I think a day at the MK would be incredible! Tough call.

I just talked him into doing the Disney cruise and a day at MK too! Now will we be ok with one day there?! And in December it's not as hot right?

Yay!!! I was going to say 'Don't give up your Disney Cruise' until I read this!! This is excellent news!

More than one day would be nice, but one day is definitely better than zero days! You will be able to have tons of fun that day. Just remember that you don't have to do it all in that day. You will be coming back. So take time to enjoy the things that you are doing and don't stress over the little things. You will definitely be fine.

And then you have the Disney cruise! Perfect!

December weather can be variable, but it is generally cooler in Dec, yes.

Now its time to do a little research on dining, resorts, rides, and FP+. This will be loads of fun!

ENJOY!

I have no clue where to even begin to plan and map out our day. I need help!

We were trying to save $$ since only visiting MK one day and stay at the pop century or one of the value resorts. In looking at the map is this too far to stay with only going to MK and having 2 littles that will need a nap?

Not at all. When we used to stay at the All Stars we would head back for naps every day.

I couldn't agree more :thumbsup2.

Disney is awesome any time of year, but is especially great during the holidays. You will get to see MK (as well as the ship) decorated for the holidays :santa:.

Do you have a "My Disney Experience" set up in the Disney World website? If not, you could start there.

Read up here on the Disboards a little first to get a feel for everything. I also like Bob Sehlinger's "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World". He has a good over view of all the information that you could want or need.

Determine you resort budget next and book a resort for the night. Pop Century is a good value resort with some very nice standard rooms with views of the lake and Art Of Animation (just a short walk across the bridge to visit). Be sure to check if there is a room only discount available for your night. If your budget runs a little higher, you could consider staying in Port Orleans French Quarter or Caribbean Beach Resort. At CBR I would recommend booking a preferred room. At POFQ you could easily manage with a standard view or garden view room. Finally, if your budget is even higher, then a deluxe Magic Kingdom resort would be the ultimate in amazing! With only one day, it would be really nice to stay in a MK resort. The WL is the most economical, but will be having some construction during your stay. If construction would bother you (It would bother me, whereas many others are OK with it), then look at a standard room in the Polynesian or in the Contemporary.

As soon as possible, you will want to book any dining reservations that you will want for that day. Reservations for many places are booked up quickly and can be booked at 180 prior to the trip, so it is time to look into this. The Crystal Palace has a very nice character lunch and or Be our Guest is a very popular dining spot.

Good luck!!
