My husband and I are having a hard time trying to decide if it is worth downgrading from a deluxe to a moderate. We were only able to get the WL Conceirge for our trip, and the last 2 nights we booked the POR with the e-mail discount...well 79.00 sounds too good to be true! And this is a big price difference, we were wondering if the POR is really nice and would we be disappointed staying there the whole time this trip. We have stayed at the WL many times, but have never tried a moderate. Anyone who has stayed at both and can offer any input/advice. Thanks in advance for and information.

If I were faced with your decision I'd chose POR. I love WL but I've had my most magical stays at POR. The $79 rate is a deal to good to pass up! With the money you save splurge on a carriage ride around the resort and some other extras. POR is a fantastic resort. Feels like a deluxe to me! Give it a try. I think you might enjoy it.::yes::

we have stayed at ASMu, POFQ, Poly & WL. in that order. Andwe still like FQ the best & my Best Friend loves POR. For that rate I would chose POR. Like txdznydude said you might really like it. Try walking around both resorts at night & the boat ride to DD is fun also. I like trying the different resorts.

But since you have stayed at WL, I would jump on that rate at PO. I would ask if that rate is for standard view, and if so see if you can upgrade it to water view. Love having a view of the river.

The resort is lushly landscaped and just beautiful to walk around. Also can enjoy walking three different themes. The main pool is kinda an L shape and found the kids stay to one end and the adults to the other (which is also by pool bar and hot tub). We enjoyed the quiet pools later in the evening.

Food court is a nice one with a big selection and fairly quiet for it's size. Also have the advantage of sit down dining.

Take the boat to DTD, what a treat, and enjoy the evenings down there. Plenty of amenities to rent also.

If you stay at POR, I wouldn't bother paying extra for the view. Why? Because the balcony is a shared one, so most likely you'll have the curtains drawn for privacy. That also begs the question of how important a private balcony is to you? When I was at POR in November, they were advertising a campfire program there. There is the carriage rides, boat rentals, the Downtown Disney boat, a restaurant on site as well as a food court, a lounge with a cheezy but delightful act, and a wonderfully themed pool. POR has a duluxe feel to it, that's for sure, so I'd probably go that route for the fabulous price! It's fun to try out the different resorts.
