Help! Trip package price..good? I"m clueless!

Hi there!

I'm brand new to the board and hoping someone is so much more knowledgeable than I am!!! I had emailed some other folks, and they said to be leery of the 90 minute timeshare promo and also that Daytona Beach is horrible...

We're debating a package to travel to Universal Studios and I have absolutely no idea if this is a great deal or not...sounds like it to me, but then, I'm clueless!

7 days/6 nights at a 4 star hotel (I can pick from several) outside gates of Universal. Breakfast included. This is for up to 5 people.

7 day rental car, unlimited mileage.

2 Star Pass tickets to Universal or that Island Adventure thing. (front of line, front row for shows, in before public). Additional tickets at a discount (instead of $100+ for kids, it would be around $63).

and then,

4 days/3 nights oceanfront at Daytona Beach.

No blackout dates. Good for up to 18 months, can extend to 2 years.

Have to do a 90 minute promo thing.

Price is $498.

We figure we'd also do the Disney circuit while there.

I know there are so many ins and outs with these places, and I've been looking online, but am just getting more overwhelmed!

Any advice is SO appreciated!!

Universal pass is just for one day? What are the choices for hotels?

The Star Passes are 2 day.

The hotel choices are the Radisson, Omni Rosen (sp), and Clarion.

This is a timeshare presentation package, not bad, depending on which Radisson you get, the Clarion is more like a 2 star, not sure about the Omni.... check them out on www.tripadvisor.com

I would get a better package on www.tug2.net, check the Owner Referrals. If you're going to go thru the presentation make sure it's a low pressure one and at a premier timeshare, like the Marriott, Sheraton or the Hilton.

The problem with these open presentations is you buy the package and you may end up in a dump. My poor niece went on one last year and stayed in a hotel with no air conditioning ... in JULY!

Also make them NAME the timeshare you will be touring, they differ in how and what they offer.
