Hello Everyone! I am a long time lurker and first time poster that needs some info. We are checking in on 05/20/09 for 6 nights for full hook up site. We originally "requested" the 1800 loop, but now I am reading that the bathrooms are closed and they most likely are not putting a lot of campers in that loop.

When I called FW today I was given different answers on whether the bathrooms were closed, the loops were closed, and what was open. Argh!

I seem to get the most accurate answers here, so if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate.

I guess I just need to know what full hook up loops "should be" open next week. THANKS!!!

From what I saw on 5/10/09, I would guess that the 1800 loop is still going to be closed when you arrive. The 1100 loop is still a full hook-up loop, and should be open. That's a great loop, and this will be your last chance to enjoy it as a full hook-up, as it is supposed to be converted to premium. The other choices would be 1600 (which they appear to be using about half of at the moment), 1700 or 1900. These loops are all similar to the 1800.

If you have a golf cart, you can do what we sometimes do...comfort station hop. Its a way to see how the other half lives (i.e. those with renovated comfort stations) or to get past a wait for a shower (on that rare occasion). The other alternative is to ask for a site close to a comfort station thats open of course. Hopefully they won't get off schedule of a closure leaving you stranded.

TCD, I tried to request my full hook-up site for the 1100 loop for next week as well. They said that loop is no longer a full hook-up loop and the computer would not allow them to make my request. I still went ahead and requested via fax, I guess we'll see. I guess its possible it will be closed for refurb?

petestulipbug, I'll be checking in on the 18th, maybe we'll cross paths. Hopefully in the 1100 loop :)

According to our current on-site operative, The Flame, the 900 loop is about to open at any moment, and the 1000 loop is closed. That suggests that the 1000 loop will be worked on next. This is a small loop, but it will take at least a couple of weeks for them to finish it. That means 1100 should still be a full hook up loop, and open for the next three or four weeks, at least.

Most of the folks who answer the phone probably have never stepped foot in the Fort. I wouldn't accept anything that someone told me on the phone as gospel. I think the fax request should do the trick.

Please let us know how it works out for you.

We just checked out this morning and 900, 1000 and 1800 were all closed! I spoke with one of the workers who was working on the Comfort Station at 1600/1800 and he said that he thought it would be another 4-weeks before they are finished. We have visited the Fort many times over the years and compared to prior visits this week had 'very' few campers and there were 'many' vacant sites!!! It was a 'great' time to visit the new pool!!!
