We ordered the buy an adult get a child's ticket free deal. Noticed this morning that the tickets must be used by April 30. Our trip is not until May 27. I called Universal twice and got conflicting info.
Call 1- Don't worry about it-tickets are not dated or marked so it doesn't
matter.
Call 2- Tickets are not refundable. You have to buy new ones!!!! Cripes!
Can anyone tell me if the tickets are marked in any way or do they look just like regular tickets. If I can't use them, I'm out 200 dollars :confused3
Thanks ya'll Julie

I don't think it matters if they are marked or not, all tickets have a barcode and they can program them to expire.
I just called Universal (yes, I'm bored this morning) and spoke to Brenda at the reservation line and she told me that they have to be used by April 30th, but you can call in and they can exchange the tickets and you can pay the difference on ones that do not expire if you want. Hope that helps! :wave2:

Thanks so much! I guess its like WDW. Some guest services people are more knowledgable/helpful than others.

I wonder what does call in and exchange the tickets mean? Would that still be a good deal for someone who knows that they will be going after April 30th, to buy the tickets now with the intention of exchanging them for tickets that will be valid during the summer. What kind of surcharge will they ask for? If I got free childrens tickets, will they charge me full price? Do you see where I'm going with this? Do you think it will work out cheaper in the long run to get the kids free tix now and exchange them later? Does anyone have a guess on this one?

Thanks

I don't think you should do this if you already know you won't be going until after the deadline. Rie'smom didn't know until after she purchased them so it was an honest mistake and it sounds like Universal will make it right for her. To buy the tickets when you already know the deadline is April 30th would probably not be a wise thing to do. I personally wouldn't chance it.

I take this to mean that be it me or someone else in my predicament would pay
the full child's ticket price. Julie

Rie'smom, I have faith that Universal will "do you right." Just explain what happened and more than likely there won't be a charge.
