Help-Think I lost points. Need advice.

My use year is April. I did not use all my 2006 points. Have 45 left over. Did I just lose 45 points since my banking % is zero? I wanted to carry the 45 pts over to 2007, perhaps 2008. We were not planning to visit to Disney this spring like we always do.

I feel like I made a rookie mistake by not reading up on this.

I believe you did lose them unless they are used by 3/31/07. Another option since you can't use them is to rent or transfer them to someone on the rent/trade board. You could make $9 a pt! Atleast it wouldn't be a total lost then.

Remember the points have to be used by March 31. If you make a rental reservation for April 1 or beyond, you are using 2007 points.

Also you can only bank points one year. Even if you would have banked these points you would have needed to use them in 2007.

you're not able to bank any of your 2006 points now. The deadline to bank the remaining 25% of your points was by Jan 31st 2006. You now have to use the 45 by March 31st or loose them.

Call MS. They may let you use the one time, super-secret "I goofed" clause. It can't hurt to ask.

You are also into the final 60 days of your Use Year so you can't make reservations for anything except DVC resorts. (You can travel to Concierge Collection etc. during the last 60 days but have to make the reservations prior to the 60 day window).

So, if you don't visit a DVC resort prior to March 31, you won't be able to use those points.

Your last opportunity to have banked any points was January 31. If you had banked them, they would have been available for trips April 2007-March 31, 2008.

DIS-Happy is right. Call and explain you are new and didn't understand. You should get a one time "I did a dumb thing" break.

Yep Our guide told us the same thing....THEY WILL FIX ONE BOO BOO.. Try it and see. Good Luck..
