I have ressies for my two daughters at the Wonderland Tea party at the Grand Floridian at 1:30. My husband and I would like to go up to the Garden View Tea room and have tea and share a small cake for our anniversary while the girls are at their tea party. The earliest reservation we could get for ourselves was 2:00. I am not 100% sure how long the Wonderland tea party lasts. Has anyone ever done this and do you think we would have enough time to have a nice cup of tea and cake before the girls are done. Or if the girls are done before we are what are the odds my husband could go get them and bring them in to set with us while we finish. I called Disney Dining and she said that we could always ask when we check in for our Tea but I dont want to order a special anniversary cake if we won't have time. Any thoughts or suggestions please???? :confused3

The tea party drop off time is 1:15 for 1:30 - 2:30 party time. I don't see where you would have enough time with a 2:00 ADR to enjoy tea and cake and get back to pick up the girls by 2:30 - especially if you have the usual 5 - 15 min wait for your table. I don't know if it would be possible to have the girls join you, as when you make an ADR for 2, you are almost always seated at a table for 2, not for 4. I would call the tea restaurant and check for sure about your timing - I would also call daily to check for an earlier ADR time - if you could get 1:15 - 1:30 you would be OK (and I've read that you can sometimes drop the kids off a little before 1:15 - I'm planning on getting mine there closer to 1:00 so I have time to check in and take a few pics before leaving).

That's what I was afraid of. When I called and spoke with a Cast Member she wasnt very helpful. I figured the easiest thing to do would be to cancel our ADR and see if we could re reserve it for a party of four so the girls could join us when they were done. Instead she recommended explaining our situation to the person we check in with at the podium. :confused3 I dont think we can move up the time for our tea because it is my understanding that they dont open until 2pm. I think I will call back tonight and see if we can just change the reservation to a party of four. Then my husband can step out for a minute and get the girls and bring them in to our table. Provided we can get a reservation for four! :worship: Thanks for the tip on getting there early to check the kids in, I would love to get some good pics before they boot us out!:thumbsup2

Yeah, they don't open until 2pm. You'd have 30 minutes - they seat people immediately when they open (from what I've witnessed...) so you shouldn't have to wait but it certainly wouldn't be laid back or relaxing to rush through it. And if the cake got delayed or something...

I'd make it for 2:30 for a party of 4 instead, unless you think the girls would be tea partied out by then. =)

I would keep the ressie for 2:00 that way you can get at least a few minutes alone, then go get the girls and have them join you.

ITA with pp - but do tell the person when you check in that you will be getting your dd - keep the ressie, spend that time- its such a relaxing time!

cheers!

Thanks everyone. :goodvibes I think I will call and see if they can move us to 2:30 for a party of four. If they don't have any openings I will keep the reservation we have and enjoy the 30 mins of alone time w/ hubby just having tea and a small dessert and maybe order the anniversary cake for another one of our dining locations. :thumbsup2
