Even though I coated the pan with Crisco butter spray, they're still sticking to the bottom. I used a knife to loosen the edges, but how do I "unstick" them from the bottom without destroying the batch?

Granted, they'll still be delicious crumbly, but I'd prefer to cut them in squares and frost them.

Thanks,
Amy :)

Ask Charade, he's the expert. :teeth: ;)

I think you might want to cut out some around the edges and then try to slide a thin spatula or bread knife under the length of them to loosen the edges. It's possible that you cooked them a little too long or had them too close to the heat source so that the crisco was absorded or burned off and didn't do the trick.

I always find that greasing my pan with Crisco rather than the spray helps keep the food from sticking a LOT better. Actually, I always cook my brownies in a stoneware pan, which requires no spray/buttering at all. But when I use a regular metal pan, I use Crisco. Try it!

I just made some last night in my stoneware pan and they came out perfect.

Another trick that I use is that reynolds release foil. I just line the pan with that stuff and then when they're done and have cooled a bit, I lift the foil (brownies and all) right out of the pan and run my pizza cutter through them. So simple and no pan to wash! (And the pizza cutter runs through them smoother than my knife too.)

Just send them to me & make another batch... :teeth:

Well, I would just get some ice cream and a spoon and eat them right out of the pan!

I have never had luck getting them out once they are stuck. It is usually all I can do to pry the crumbs out to wash the pan!

Try heating the pan on a burner just for a minute to soften them up again. If that doesn't work, eat 'em with a spoon! :p

Thanks everyone.

While I was at Jazzercise, my DH pried them loose with a spatula. They're delicious!

I'll definitely try using Crisco (rather than the spray) next time.

I'm sending you all a virtual brownie! :teeth:

Amy :)
