If you have stayed in a 70's section non preferred room. Please let me know what room # you were in and how you liked it.
Thanks,
Melissa

Sept. 2006 we stayed in 70's building for 10 nites. We were in building B, first floor , # 0116 facing towards the 80's and 90's buildings. It was a good location. Quick walk to food court and parking lots. Also quick walk to computer pool (80/90). One morning we had surprise visitors-a flock of ducks outside our room. My DD had a great time feeding them. Funny thing was that was the only day we saw them. They didn't come back.

Last year we stayed in the 50's, building B, 3rd floor, facing the lake. Loved that location. A little farther walk to the parking lot. Not to far to food court. Wonderful view of fireworks (and lightening storms).

We usually request ground floor but after last year, I think I'll request upper floor, facing the lake again.

Hope this helps!

ADDED-Hi Melissa-bet you're getting really excited! Say hi to our fridge for me!

Thanks! Good info. I will say hi to the fridge for you. I have contacted the swappers with me and gave all info just in case. Yes I am really excited, it has been four years since our last visit.

Not a 70s building but just got back from 2 night stay at POP (booked standard room) , when checked in requested something on 4th floor in a quieter area if possible. Wound up in 50s section in building at end of bowling pin pool with view toward lake. I guess luck of the draw but it may have been the quietest room ever stayed in at WDW. Corner room near elevator so it only next to one other room. Other side of this 50s building (landscaped view) was also very quiet. Don't know how things are in busy season but very quiet in mid-May.

Couple of years ago stayed in 70s building with lake view and that was good location.

I can't remember the exact room number, however we were in the 70's section on the left side (when walking from main building) across from the giant fuseball game. We were on the first floor! I loved our location. If you cut through you were just outside the bus stop and just a two or three minute walk to the main building and main pool!

We just got back Saturday we were in 70's room 6445 facing the lake. It was so nice and very quite.

We stayed in the 70s last summer - room 0101 - first floor, the very first room right next to the Big Wheel! Great location! Easy walk to food court and bus stops!

Can't remember the room number, but we stayed in the 70's building 2nd floor (non-preferred) and it suited us fine. Close to the pool and the food court and store, and noise was minimal for the times we were there (we were at the parks from approximately 10am - 8pm each day).

Last April we stayed at POP 70s building for 8 nights overlooking the courtyard. We were on the 2nd floor. Sorry I do not remember the room number but we had a standard room. We enjoyed our location- it was not too far to the food court or buses. We found it to be quiet as well. The only noise we heard was from the toilets flushing lol. We had a connecting door between our room and we did not hear any noise from the neighbors. My 2 year old loved the large Mickey Phone out front as well. Although our room was just a standard room we were not far from the elevators or ice machine. We loved our stay here so much we are going back in September. We thought about staying at All Star Movies but decided against it as we loved Pop so much. Hope this helped. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks!! All very helpful. Cannot wait! First time staying at Pop and have heard great things.

Just a reminder that even if you request a certain section there is no gaurantee that you will get it.
I was at ASMu last Oct. and there was a woman right in front of us who had requested a certain section based on what she had read here. The CM gave her the room assignment and she was absolutely livid shouting at the CM that she had put in a request for such and such building on such and such floor and that was where she was going to stay. The CM tried to explain that requests were just that and that there were no rooms available for her in her requested area at that time. It was suggested that she check back in a day or two and possibly a room could be open then and they could then, move to the reuested area. The woman felt that she had paid enough money on the trip to have her room assignment honored and that someone else should move. Anyway it was quite a scene and the extreme case of what happens when someone feels that a request is not a request but a gaurantee. It is good to have the information of where you would like your room assignment so that you can request it ahead of time giving you a chance at getting what you do want.

We will be staying at POP in July and are very excited about it!
