HELP Southwest Cancellation Question

Does anyone know the cancellation policy for southwest? We made ressies last night and then for the week prior to Presidents week and thought we had the Dolphin confirmed but we were wrong. DIS unlimited wrote back today letting us know it wasn't confirmed. SO now we need to change dates. We can see that there are fares still available for the flights but don't know how to change the reservations or just cancel them and then rebook for different dates. Anybody successfully change dates with a Southwest reservation?

Any info would help before I make final plans. I am still going to try and get into the swan. Thanks!

Hopefully Gail will show up, because she writes this better than I do.

Step 1. Go to www.southwest.com and find the travel center page. Follow the cancel your reservation instructions. Make sure you have written down your confirmation number.

Step 2. Go to the reservation page and make a new reservation, when you get to the payment page select pay with ticketless funds (or something like that) You will then be prompted to put in the credit card holders name and the confirmation number. It tells you the funds available and you select them and proceed to check out.

If at step 2 your funds are not showing DON'T panic. You are moving faster then SW's computer. Two options, wait a few minutes or call SW (they can release this faster and have done it for me).

Like Carol said, hopefully Gail will respond, but I changed our dates last week for our trip during Presidents' Week. I don't think you have to cancel and rebook - you can just change the dates -- but first, make sure what you want is available. Then, go to the SW Travel Center and click on "Change Itinerary". you will need your original confirmation number to continue. Follow the prompts and make your changes. In my case, our fares went down and I was given a credit for part of the fare and a choice on another portion of the fare between a credit or a refund. I chose the credit, so that I could use it for next time.

The process was very easy. Hope this is helpful.

HI,
Just go to www.southwestair.com, click on travel center, then click on change itenerary and follow the prompts from there.
It is REALLY easy!!!! You can also change your departure or arrival location this way.

Don't use the cancel feature unless you are totally cancelling the reservation.
