There was just a news commercial on our local station that asked for people doing the Dr Phil challenge to send in your before photo and they want to follow your progress on the news.

Would you do this? Its scary but at the same time this is a program that I relaly believe in!

Accckkkk

What do you think?

Well, that might be mighty motivating...although it might also cause people come up to you and check out what's in your grocery cart;) .
Are you shy at all binny? That might scare me away from doing it...
Let us know what you decide!!

What WAS I thinking???? You shy.........hahahaha:D

I just checked out your "before" photo.... you look good now, and you will look even better when you reach your goal...but one of the best parts... your sweet kids will have a very healthy MOM:D

yeah I dont have many shy issues ;)

Not even sure I have a "shy bone" in my body.

Thanks Thats my major goal, to be here when my Grandkids get here.
Thats not going to happen for a very long time~! ( God willing ;) )

I think you're incredibly brave to consider it! I wouldn't. On one hand you will be helping motivate others and it will certainly be a motivation for you. On the other hand, you may get more notarity than you bargained for.

I always think of the time I went into Baskin & Robins and saw a local tv celebrity having an ice cream cone when he was in the middle of a highly publicised diet. Everyone (yes, including me - though I'd like to think I wasn't judging his choice) was looking at him and wondering if he should be having that. You'll have to have great confidence in yourself any time you eat in public or at the grocery store! Kind of a scary thought - but then again it could be a chance to teach people that a successful "diet" doesn't have to be grapefruit only.

I might, if I was taking the Dr. Phil Challenge. Do you want to do this?

I definitely think this would be a wonderful motivational tool!! I think if you want to do this, you should...I could never, as I am so shy!;):p

I don't think I could do it myself ... I'm very shy to begin with, so I don't know if I would have the courage to send in my picture. But I agree with everyone else that it could be very motivating ... especially since you know there will be some kind of follow up in a couple of weeks. Who knows, someone might see your story Binny and become inspired to lose weight :)

Last year, one of our local new stations did a special on several people who were trying to lose weight using different methods (ie. Atkins, Slim Fast etc.) ... they came back to them every few months to record their progres and see how they liked the diets. I believe all of them lost weight ... but at a different rate. I thought it was interesting to watch... :p

I don't think that I would do it. For me I think it would sabotage my efforts, because of the weight of expectation. I would feel like I had to lose a certain # of lbs and I know that wouldn't do me any good, but that it just me!! :jester:

I think that by the very fact that you posted this, it's something you want to do! So go for it! What can you lose (other than weight???)? How can it hurt? If you don't do fabulously on it, no one will condemn you personally. There are always a few nasty people out there, but most people will look at you and say "Wow, she's brave, I couldn't do that!"

So, Sweetie, JUST DO IT!!! And keep us posted!

Karyn

well I did it!
I emailed the anchor that is in charge of the program last night and this is the response I got this morning.

I've updated the story on our website to include more information regarding what this is all about. Here's the scoop... we're hoping to recruit 2 viewers to share their weight loss story. We are just beginning the process of receiving photos and weight loss goals so your timing is perfect. Are you interested in this? Here is what the website now says:

If selected you and another Channel 2 viewer will share your weight loss frustrations and most importantly your success over the coming months with other KBCI - TV viewers. The goal is for you to utilize Dr. Phil's suggested methods in his new book "The Ultimate Weight Solution", we'll provide you with a copy of the book, then once a month or so we'll check in with you and do a story on your progress

I realize you already have a copy of the book, and that's fine... please let me know if you think you'd be interested in sharing your success with us!! If so, I'll be happy to include your photo and goal for consideration for our special project. I believe the final selections will be made by Monday Sept. 29th.

SO we'll see!

That is so cool, binny! I really hope you're chosen! It's will be so much fun for all of us as your own special team to participate in this with you! I really glad you went ahead and did this!

Karyn

I give you lots of credit, I don't know if I would be able to do it! I am a cross between shy and not shy, but I don't think I could do it.

I think it would be a great way to keep accountable. Like Dr. Phil says, you need to have a circle of people that you are accountable to.

Good luck,
Melanie

Wow:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I'm glad you went ahead and applied. I hope you get chosen:D
