When checking Dave's and Barb & Tony's sites they have two different listings for for semi formal and formal nights on the Eastern cruise. Dave has formal as Sunday (Master Chef Series night) and semi formal for Thursday Captain Gala night. Barb and Tony's site have the reverse. I remember last year that formal night was Sunday and semi formal was Thursday, has this changed?

Any recent Eastern cruisers remember which day is which?

on the 9/6 eastern formal was sunday, semi-formal thursday

They flip-flop them quite frequently. I have no idea why. We figured Thursday was formal night on the western as it had been so for the previous 6 cruises. Well, right after I made the thursday Palo reservation, they announced monday was formal night. Fortunatley I flip flopped the reservation, but I'd ask often as soon as you get on the boat and see what seems to be the consensus.

at the end of July when we went:
formal was Sunday, semi-formal was Thursday.

As Tigfanjeff said, perhaps they change or flip/flop them? Usually these 2 websites have great info so this may be the reason for the difference?

I've never thought there was a big difference in attire between the formal and semi-formal....

When you're making reservations at Palo, they should have a chart telling you which night has which theme, to help you decide when you want to book.
