Just new to this forum and would like help on a few things.

I am going to DLP in September staying at the Sequoia Lodge® with my Wife and son who will be just about 3 years old. I need to find out a few things so i can work out our budget for our trip.

Is there a fridge in the room or can you hire one?

Where can i get cows Full cream milk in or near disney for my son to drink?

Getting from CDG airport to DLP - The best way and the cheapest?

Going to Paris fro the day - How easy is it and cost to get there?

Is there smoking allowed in the park?

The big shopping centre - Any websites or lists of shops?

At CDG can i purchase Tax free cigarettes?

Can you hire Push chairs at DLP and if so how much?

Cheers in advance

Hi nezi,

Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome you to DLP DIS board :goodvibes

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread, or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here

DIS posting guidelines can be found here

I can only help with a couple of your questions I'm afraid.

There are several ways of getting from CDG to DLRP and back. Theres the VEA bus, which picks up at each terminal at CDG (and drops off there too) - this costs 17 euro per adult one way, and 13 euro per child one way.
Theres the TGV train, but this may not be suitable for you if you have small children/pushchairs/a lot of luggage, as it involves changing terminal or walking from your arrivals gate to the train station at DLRP.
Theres also private shuttles, a few of which are used regularly by DIS board members :).
If you have a look at this thread, you'll get lots of information about getting to DLRP from CDG -

If you want to hire a pushchair at DLRP, you pay, I believe 7.50 euros per day, per pushchair. You can't take the pushchairs from one park to another without paying a hefty deposit, but you can keep your receipt, hand in your puschair at one park, then show your receipt at the other, and get another one, without having to pay again.

Hope this helps,

Hi Nezi, You can buy milk from the garage near to the Santa Fe. You can probably get it in the train station shop too.

I would recommend taking your own pushchair, rather than hiring one. That way, you can take it from the park back to SL at the end of the day. The hired pushchairs don't recline and have no cover to keep the rain off. We took a lightweight Maclaren with a raincover and were glad we did.

You can smoke in the parks - there are designated areas but these appear to be largely ignored. Smoking in queues is frowned upon but the French are generally more tolerant of smoking.

I don't think you can hire a fridge for your room but you could use ice from an ice machine (if there is one) in your sink to keep things cool.

Think we might just take our own pushchair, not that our son really needs it but it might be a long day for him and he might need a little sleep, infact i think it might be a long day for me and i might need it.

my dd was two our last trip she hasnt had a nap in ages but slept every day at disney. all the excitement tired her out bless lol. i really dont think those rented buggies are very comfortable it is best to bring your own

When we went we took a trip in to paris we bought the tickets at the station but went to the kiosk and got a deal instead of the machine as our ticket also coverd boats and buses too i cant remember the exact price but it was not that expensive ....also whilst in paris please dont make the mistake we did and sit outside a cafe for a drink as you pay alot more to sit out than to sit in lol we paid 55euro for 3 coffees and 4 cokes ......

also as regard to smoking in the park there are desegnated smoking areas some people do just walk round and smoke but we did use these places as not to offend other people .....

We also found a shop in the train station tucked right in the corner near the smaller gates to disney it was a gold mine they had fresh croissants bread coffee and so on also after paying 30 euro for a bottle of wine at the hotel we were supprised to fine a nice red for 2.50 and yes remember your bottle opener :thumbsup2

as regard to the shopping center do you mean val de europe ..... you can just google it and you can get some information up they do have a large supermarket there and some placed to eat too......

Just a thought about cows milk maybe you could try and see if mc donalds sell it like they do here if so buy some and stock up i know we had trouble finding milk our boys would like too as the french like long life ....

hope that helps abit and i am sure you will find everyone helpfull here as i have x x x x vicki

Cheers for the info Vicki i'm sure it will come in handy. :thumbsup2

About the cow's milk - they didn't have any in the shop at the train station when I looked in Jan '09. My 2 yr old didn't seem to notice any difference in it & the milk served at breakfast, so I took some for later & just kept it cool in the room in the ice bucket surrounded by ice.

I have bought the cows milk in the Champion supermarket in Bailly Romainvilliers - have to go on a number 34 bus - because that is close to the Marriott where we usually stay.

The best ticket to get for a trip to Paris is the mobilis ticket - it costs 13E and gets you there and back (in the same day) and gives unlimited access to the metro while in central paris.

There is also the Paris Visite card which is slightly more expensive but gives free access to some attractions but to be honest most of them are not the main ones that most people do so its possibly not worth it.

You can google both and get more info

We bought a small carton of UHT milk in the park each day for before bedtime (looked like little cartons of fresh orange you would buy here) We are going to try RS transport this time to get from CDG. We have always used the VEA shuttle in the past but find the queueing and scrum to get on the bus quite stressful with young children.

With regards to buying cigarettes at the airport you don't get duty free prices because your not traveling out of the EU. You do however save a little bit but not as much as some people seem to when they're on holiday.
