I am booked at CR MK view, and am having second thoughts about paying that much money on it even with FD, my dates are sept 7th -16th. I checked online for POP perfered room and it's available, but when I called to book it, the guy said only standard is available. Why is it showing I can book perfered pop with FD online, but not on the phone? Should I just book it online and cancel my other res.?

UPDATE: I decided to try and call again today, and I was able to get Pop perfered room! I just saved myself 3,000 by not staying at CR. I can take another trip with the money I just saved! And we added 1 more day to the hopper!

They are both great for totally different reasons. POP is nice and cost much less and CR MK view is great for view being closer to 2 of the 4 parks.
We ourself are trying the POP for this FD trip. We have heard really good thinkgs and think it might be a good time to try it out so lets say we don't really like it as well as the others we have stayed in before, then at least it cost much less, and had FREE DINE!!!
So to answer your questions it really depends on how you view this trip? Whatever you do, I bet you will have a FUN!!! :woohoo: :cool1:

The on line version could be "False Availability" which happens when inventory is running low. WDTC will have the most accurate availability. If you try to book that PC trip it may not let you confirm it.

Try bookin it if you want it, and then cancel the Contemporary unless you have insurance. Insurance is non-refundable so you want to modify it.

Resort availability changes all the time.

Not sure what section of the disney website you went into BUT I found that if I went and just acted like I was going to book a room as usual it showed avalibility BUT when I called they would say "There were no rooms avaliable".

To the left of the page there is a link for SPECIAL OFFERS, when you click on the FREE DINING offer and check for the same dates it then told me there was no rooms available. BUT THIS MORNING, when I checked, it said there were rooms avaliable therefore I called instantly and was able to book the two rooms. SO there are to groups of rooms those with free dining offered on them and those that are not.

yes first make sure you go to the right side of the main page of www.disney.com/travel where it says something about a delectible offer (or something like that, you would think I knew by now what it said!) and then follow the link to the "red" page with goofy on it, then check your dates and availability, if it's available, just follow through until you get to the payment page, then call Disney and tell them you want to modify your existing reservation. If they say they don't have it, then book online and then call back and tell them what you did and they'll modify it. This worked for me, only I didn't book online because they had it available when I called and then later on there was nothing at my resort available. Try first thing in the morning. Just to let you know, we stayed at the 70's building and it was just as close if not closer than some of the 50's & 60's (right??) rooms and it was not a preferred location. So if you can get a standard room, book it, preferred may come up later or just request the 70's.

I know everyone is different by my opinion on preffered rooms at Pop is that unless you have to be close to the main building and busses for medical reasons I wouldn't pay for preffered. The hotel is set up so that some preffered rooms are actually further away from the busses and main building than some of the non preffered. Last year my non preffered room that cost $12 less per night was within 20 feet of a preffered room. I love the way they set it up so that your furthest rooms in the 80's and 90's have a shortcut to the busses making it not too far away.

Hope this helped make your decision a little easier.

I just went thru the same exact dilemma but I was debating between POFQ and POP. I ended up going with POP. It saved us $500! We won't be spending that much time in the room and we will enjoy POP just as much! Our Sept. trip will be our 4th trip in less than 2 years. I have come to realize that just being there is far more important to us than where we stay. So we can fit in more trips if we just limit how much we spend on accomodations. That's not to say that we will never stay mod/deluxe. The first 2 of these 4 trips were spent at the POLY and OKW so we aren't exactly staying at values every time ;) Just every trip can't be at one!

CR MK view is kind of hard to pass up but the difference in price I'm sure could more than pay for another trip!

As for rooms at POP, I would just go with the standard. We like the 50's section. I don't find it to be a difficult walk to anything :)

Thanks for the advice! I didn't change it yet, anyway. I really want to be at the CR, it has been a dream of mine to stay there ever since I started going to WDW. MK and Epcot are our 2 favorite place to hop between, and we do go back to our room in the afternoons for rest and eating. So I have to try the cr at least once! I had to cancel last sept trip that I was suppose to take with my oldest son, and we were going to stay at the cr, so I guess this will just make up for that.

We stayed at pop last year in the 80's building. To be honest we had to drive around to the front that is how far of a walk it would of been. This year we are not driving we are flying and will have to depend on the buses. So I did book preferred it cost about 100.00 more but I am hoping its worth it..

$3,000 is a HUGE chunk of change. Enjoy your trip and start planning your next one with the $$ you've saved. I heard nothing but great things about POP. We haven't been there yet, but we'll be there in September too!
