Ok so I just read about the Y.E.S. program. I looked at the individual classes available during the time we would like to be at Disney. My husband and I have 6 kids (at the time of travel they will be 18, 11, 9, 8, 3, and 2). If we enroll the 3 middle kids (11, 9, 8) and I buy 5 day park hopper tickets for all of us it comes to right around $1200. Of course I was hoping to get Free Dining...I know we all are! I know that I have to make it a "package" to get free dining which means tickets...can I just buy a one day ticket with the "package"? Because one day tickets are more expensive then when you buy multiple days do you think it is still worth it? Also because of the younger girls and the likelyhood that we will not park hop, if I was buying just the "package" I would probably not buy park hoppers, but because it was so cheap to do so when going through the Y.E.S program I thought I would. I do think my kids would love the program so I would like to sign them up. Numbers keep swirling in my head so any help would be great!!!:eek::eek:

For free dining, you would have to buy at least a 2 day base ticket for everyone in the room (with the exception of the 2 year old). The requirement to get the DDP (paying for it) is just a 1 day ticket. It used to be a 1 day base for free dining, but Disney changed that a couple of years ago to a 2 day. With the number of kids you have (even with the 2 year old being free), free dining could save quite a bit of money (especially with 2 of them priced as adults), but then you have to factor in the extra cost of tickets to get that. But keep in mind that those tickets can be saved and used on a future trip, so if free dining shows a big savings (even with the purchase of those extra tickets), you could always use those tickets later on :).

Call and see if you have a pin!!!!!

While it is true that Disney has required the 2-day base ticket to be purchased for everyone in the party for the FD packages offered to the general public, I only had to purchase a 1-day base ticket for everyone with our FD pin.

I called the end of January with our tentative dates and to ask about any upcoming FD promotion. I was told I had a 30% off pincode that was good through December 2012 and I told the CM I wanted to wait and book FD and that I would call back (which they actually encourage).

I called a few days later, told the CM my dates again, asked if I had a pincode and he said no (not even the 30% off pincode) and I said I really wanted free dining, so I would wait. Then he said that he would check something and that there was a free dining code I could use (QS at value an moderate and regular DP at deluxe and villas...code good from March 4th-June 30 with blackout dates of April 1-April 15). I booked right then at CS and have since changed my res. to AKL, which took calling several times to do as they kept saying there was no availability!

You never know until you call, and call, and call, and call....... :surfweb:
