Help!! Question about Rental Home

OK guys, different question here. I've got three homes that I've secured for rental from 6/12-6/20 in Windsor Palms. I am renting one home from one couple and two homes from another couple. Both couples are in the UK. The couple with one home uses a real estate agent in Kissimmee the couple with the two homes I paid direct. On March 8th I sent my final payment to both couples. I checked yesterday and the payment to the couple in the UK (with the two homes) has yet to arrive. It's been 15 days since I mailed it. Do you think that should be enough time? When I sent the deposit in it took about 10 days. The final payment is due by April 3rd, so if the payment hasn't made it by Thursday of this week I guess I'll go the post office and try to Global Express it for $30. I just dropped a letter with an 80 cent stamp at the post office, so I didn't get delivery confirmation or any thing where I could track it.

Somebody please let me know if I should wait a while longer or send the payment in again now!! I really don't want to stop payment on the two checks I've sent because that costs me $30 EACH (thanks Wachovia...love ya!) but I also don't want the other 28 members of the party peeved at me about not getting these houses. Thanks!!

OMG!! This is so weird!! I am looking at renting from them too! I am going through "All Star Vacation Rentals" I got the referral from All Ears .net (Deb's Unofficial Walt Disney Information Guide). They look legit, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience here?
I wish I had information for you, but kinda in the same situation as you, just not as far along.

Hi, we rent out our home in Emerald Island and I really believe that there is only a problem with the mail here. Windsor Palms is a new development and the folks who have bought in there are new owners....I would call or email them immediately and tell them you are concerned. There is no way they will "cancel" you. They are probably just as worried as you are that you don't wnat the rental.....Get ahold of them tonight or today and just talk. If the check does not arrive you can decide together what to do...

My guess is all will work out, but get together soon and talk, you both will feel better!!!

Same thing happened to me last year but it was just snail-mail. Everthing worked out great.(in fact, we are renting from them again this year. Formosa Gardens --WE LOVE IT). I did decide to call U.K. and that turned out better anyway. I think speaking w/them is a great alternative to waiting for response via email. Good Luck!!!!

I would call or email them immediately and tell them you are concerned.

Yeah, I had emailed the owner on Tuesday and that's when I found out he hadn't yet received the check. His response was 'we'll keep and eye out for it.' I think I'll give it till Monday and then contact him again to see what we need to do. He takes paypal, but with a 4% increase so I could use that as a final last minute resort. Thanks folks!!

Last fall it took my balance 2 weeks to get to the UK. I was quit concerned as my deposit has arrived in 6 days. I talked to the PO about it and they said don't be surprised if it takes 3 weeks, the mail is really scrutinized at customs. We sent ours certified and it took that long. Goodluck, I know how you feel and how worried you are.

Hi again....I know it is easy for me to sitting here in Iowa, but hold off on Pay Pal unless you need to do it last minute...."The check is in the mail"...It will get there.

I do appreciate the worry as we have had US mailed checks take a week, but they have always arrived

For anyone interested, the property owner emailed me today and said my checks finally made it to him!! :jumping4:It took a full 22 days, but they made it with 4 days to spare. Now if these next two and a half months would just hurry up and pass by....
