I would really love to know how to post with multiple quotes. As in trying to answer questions from different posters. I have looked over on the tech. board and there isn't anything. Also checked out the FAQ at the top of the boards and there is no mention.

Please help. Don't let me die stupid....at least not about multi-quotes. :rotfl:

Bumping up. Does anyone know how to do this and is willing to share?

You know how to use the "QUOTE" button to create the first quote, right?

For quotes after that, you'll need to cut and paste the text. Then look at the codes that were automatically created around the first quote. You'll have a [ quote=name ] at the beginning and a [/quote ] at the end. You'll just manually type (or copy and paste them from the automatically generated quote), and you're done.

Want to try it?

The way I do it, Angel, it to right mouse click on the Quote button in all the posts I want to quote, except the last one. On the right click, I select, 'Open In New Window'. When I have the additional windows opened, I then just do a regular left mouse click on the Quote button of the last post I want to quote. That opens a window for you to post in, with the quote there. I then go back to the other opened windows, highlight the text that it in them, including the quote tags and brackets, right mouse click, copy, come back to the main post you are working on and paste the copied text. Do that with each opened window. Post your comments, generally after each quoted text, close the extra windows, and submit.

With that much work, it is always best to highlight and copy your finished product, as the DIS is not the most stable platform and does bomb out often enough, in which case you would lose all your work. Best is to highlight your post, and copy it, then submit. If the DIS bombs out, at least you have your post in memory.

I've always wanted to do this.

The reason this didn't work was because you have an extra space in your "[/quote ]" There should be no spaces. I believe the person who explained it just put the spaces in so that you could see the text typed out.

Remove the space and I bet it'll work. :)

Highlighting, copying, then pasting, rather than do a manual, should prevent those errors.

I think you've all got it!!!

Yep, I put extra spaces in the code in my examples... sorry, should have pointed that out. :teeth:

So now, my friends, go quote to your hearts' content! :sunny:

There, now we see if I did it correctly.

WebmasterKathy AND Dan Murphy,

Thank you both so much for your help. I did it, I did it. :Pinkbounc

Now I won't die stupid! ;)

Have a great evening.
