Help Please... CBR or Swan/Dolphin

I am having the same debate over Xmas time.
It is about 450 less at dolphin over CBR- main difference I am seeing is bus issues to MK not getting dropped off at park and not being able to charge to roomat Parks and dinning outside of dolphin/swan

I understand the issues, but I think we will just hop over to Boardwalk to catch the MK bus there or Yacht Club. And not being able to charge to the room is a pain, but when we were at WDW in March sometimes it was faster to just pay with a credit card at restaurants.

I agree... just use you phone for both Disney Tickets and Charging.

Only negative with S&D is if Dining Plan come back and that is something your interested in. But it's close on that being worthwhile, and I don't expect to see free dining anytime soon.

Walking from Swan over the Boardwalk to get to MK was no longer of a walk than to most bus stops at CBR.

I really hope that they put a stop to this, especially as Boardwalk and Beach Club open up. If I were staying at BC/BCV/YC/BW/BWV and was not able to get on a bus due to people walking over from non-Disney resorts (they ARE non-Disney resorts) rather than using the transportation they provide, I'd definitely be complaining at Guest Services.

Completely valid. I'm staying at Dolphin in a month and heard chatter about this option. I think it's no big deal as long as actual resort guests get on first and then if there's space, great, if not, no-go. It'll be VERY difficult to police/enforce. "I came for a reservation."... "I came to get an ice cream at the boardwalk....." How do they stop that?

They might have to go to a Magic Band scanner - that would show who is in a WDW resort just like they would use at EMH when those were a thing. That way people who were on property who had legit come for a meal could be verified. Or if they wanted to allow S&D people who DID actually eat would have to show a receipt of the purchase.

What would it cost to put scanners in dozens of busses and to take the time to do all this scanning, train some drivers on how to use them and what else might make for a legitimate fair...

In the end adding an extra bus or two might be the course of least resistance.

Do think it's could be a real problem one all Resorts are back to full capacity, but think Disney was foolish to allow that to be separated out of their deal with the new owners.

I suspect you're right about just adding a few more busses will be easier. Ignoring the S/D issue, is a park guest not within their right to take a Disney bus to any resort, particularly one on the boardwalk? Doesn't Disney want people to go to the boardwalk and spend $$? If they are, the scanners wouldn't help b/c people could just claim they were shopping on the boardwalk, or grabbing a snack, taking a walk, whatever. Now, Disney could see they had a S/D res if they did scan the guest's MB so they could play a fun game of "I know what you're up to" "Nah, I just came out of the park for a snack." "No you didn't."... As if the cast members didn't have to deal with enough nonsense...
