Help please !! Car hirer deposit

Hi , I know I have seen this question somewhere on here but just can't find it , so sorry in advance .

We have car hirer through Thompson's and yes we fell for getting the upgrade for fully inclusive at a high price . We have a fairfix card but are not taking a credit card as we have just got rid of our credit cards as they kept on upping the limit and if it was left to me we would be in debt . So try and just do what we can afford by saving . How do we go on with car hirer deposit . Thought I had read that someone had used the Fairfx card . Landing at Sanford and company is Almno , just wondered home much deposit they need as well . Go in 11 days so no time to sort out a new credit card . Help please !

While Fairfx do allow car rental transactions (but don't recommend it) it will block off the deposit from your card until the end of rental. As for the amount i can't help, never used Alamo! I'm sure someone will be along shortly to answer that one.

Might be worth checking if Alamo accept debit card?

They will put a block on funds on FairFX.

You can use a debit card as long as you can show your return flight details so that may be your best option.

Thank you we will just use our debit card no problem . Do they accept debit cards and home much do they take from it ? Also is it easy to transfer funds on to you Fairfx card while over there as didn't want to fully load it just in case it gets lost or stolen . Thanks for help

Sorry, I have no idea if the amount they block as we always use a credit card. They have mentioned the debit card to be before when collecting.

If your debit card has a visa sign that will be fine, as far as the usa are concered a visa is fine for anything

Yes it a visa debit so should be ok then : ) panic over ! Should of thought it through and applied for a new credit card but jut didn't think as we have just been loading the Fairfx up for our shopping sprees !! Can't wait now so excited !!
