My head is spinning reading the differences between the hotels. What is the best moderate hotel for 3 adults and one child? Thanks!!!

Depends on what you are looking for......:goodvibes

Coronado Springs is my fave moderate....great food court, counts as counter service credit on the dining plan. only moderate with a fitness club, great bus service and awesome pool area with slide for kiddos.
cons... its a big resort but I have no issues with the size due to the other ameneities. Also a convention hotel but that just makes more room on the buses!

Cbr - have'nt stayed here and really have no desire to...one one of my trips I drove through and stopped at food court, was nice enuff but nothing else appealed to me.

POr- nice resort and the boat to downtown is nice... resort is big also but has a great food court, horse drawn carrige rides and you can go between POR and POFQ as they are sister resorts and share amenities.

POFQ- smallest of the Mods... cute but boring slide for bigger kids... food court is meh but rooms have just been remodeled.
theme is new orleans and they pipe jazz music in.

How I rate them

1. CSR
2. POR
3.POFQ
4.CBR

Good luck!

We have stayed at POFQ & CSR. We liked POFQ better reasons the size-it is the smallest of the mods & the boat to DTD. We did have a car on that trip bus service at CSR was way better than POFQ. POFQ shares with POR. If I was taking my kids and staying at a Mod I think I would choose CBR the pool area looks way cool. CSR has queens instead of Double beds & I believe POFQ has queens now.

I would look at the pictures of the resorts & start by which looks the most pleasing to your group.

Check out the pictures and fact sheets on www.allears.net.

You may find one or two appeal to you more.

My kids loved the pool at CSR but we hated the Pepper Market. Room size was nice and big, grounds were pretty, multiple bus stops but we drove so we didn't try them out. Has queen size beds

POR - food court is really good, room size good, loved the grounds and pool was nice, multiple bus stops but it didn't bother me, getting queen size beds, It's my favorite moderate right now

POFQ - liked the single bus stop, food court ok, room size good, pool was boring, grounds were pretty, getting queen size beds.

CBR - loved the food court, pool was nice, room size good, double beds too small, multiple bus stops but drove so we didn't try them out.

Good luck deciding.

I would pick Coronado Springs, it's the most 'adult' of the moderates, and it's the newest.

I've stayed at Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans French Quarter. I think CBR has the best pool for kids. POFQ is great because you can take the boat to Downtown Disney (which I think a lot of adults would appreciate). POFQ was just renovated, too.

Have fun!

Hi,
Not sure of the age of the child, but like a pp said, the slide at POFQ seems to be for younger children.
I have stayed at 3 of the mods. I rate them in this order:
CBR and POR
CSR
POFQ (never stayed here)

All the mods are very pretty. :)

CBR: We love the lovely tropical theming at CBR. They have a really nice pool with zero entry. Resort seems to be centrally located. It didn't take us long to get anywhere once the bus arrived. Lots of food court options.

POR is lovely. Stayed here twice. Lush pretty grounds along the river. Great Southern theming. Nice food court. Relaxing atmosphere. Recently refurbished rooms. We had some bus issues, but this was some years back.

CSR: a very pretty resort, lovely fountains. Transpo was pretty good during our stay, resort seems to be centrally located. Nice big pool. The convention crowd might take over some of the outdoor areas depending on when you go. We did not like the Pepper Market, not sure if we would ever choose to stay here again because of that, but would happily stay here again if POR and CBR were booked.

POFQ: we haven't stayed here, so can't comment on anything except that the pool slide seems to be for younger kids, not as fun for older kids, from what I hear (maybe Disney can do something about this ;)). I have seen this resort from the bus stop and it looks quaint and lovely.

All resorts have their issues. You just have to pick one that appeals to you and enjoy all the great things it has to offer. I think Disney does a great job with the mods. :)

This would be my list..
1. CSR
2. POR
3. POFQ
4. CBR & this is why

1st off: Pool . Each resort's main pool is nice, but the POFQ is a lil bit on the kiddish side. CSR nice theming & never ever crowded at all. POR Very nice as well w/ a nice side crowd during all hours. Same w/ CBR. POR's is nice and close to the main bldg, which is very convenient too. CSR a lil far but worth the beautiful walk.

2nd: Rooms. This fairly even for all. It all depends on your taste. I believe all have updated rooms now. I was fortunate to saty in them for POR & CSR. I loved both. POFQ I didn't stay in for more than a day. CBR never stayed inside.

3rd: Food area. I think by far. CSR Pepper Market. Never a wait to be seated. no more than 15 seconds .honestly. Also they bring u the drinks for a really small tip. (not a big deal) All the others were so darn packed & it really discouraged me. I felt like I was back at the values.

4th: Transportation. CSR definetley gets the nod again. Never once did we wait to or from any park or DTD. The fact that its a convention hotel helps. But Both the POR & POFQ have a nice boat ride to DTD. Bad side is the buses there. LOng long wait, especially from HS Fantasmic show. Both buses returning to the resorts from there were a minimum 7 or 8 buses. CBR felt just about average.

5th: Grounds. All are beautiful. POR & CSR stand out IMHO. CBR is spread out and the theming to me doesnt feel like Disney. Plus main Bldg is no where near anything. Check in area. POFQ is very small. Kinda claustraphobic if you ask me.

Lets put it this way: This is Disney, No matter which you choose, they will make it a magical time regardless. Have fun choosing & enjoy!:woohoo:
