How is the first week of March at Disney? Most interested in crowd levels?

I had orginally booked Feb 22nd to Feb 28th, but found out about President Week breaks and cancelled the reservation...touring guides said crowd levels are around 9!

Don't want to make same mistake again and I know Spring breaks are coming up in March, but do they start as early as the 1st week of March?

Also, I'm getting same room rates for President's week in Feburary as 1st week of March. I thought they'd be a little cheaper? $195 a night (including tax) for a moderate seems awfully high...I'm thinking there must be a reason...

I'd like to know the expected crowd levels too. My DS and I are thinking about going March 6-11 during his spring break.

The crowds always seem fairly low to me. If you have small kids definitely hit Fantasyland first- otherwise all parks and attractions should be less than 10 minute waits. Fantasyland is always a bottleneck since the queues were designed for Disneyland.

I'll be there the 3rd through the 9th on my Spring Break. If it helps any, my college is the only one around here that is on break that early!

Disney catagorizes their room rates based on four "seasons": Value, Regular, Peak and Holiday. I believe that for 2006, Peak season runs from 2/15-4/22ish. That would mean that room rates are the same for every week during that season.

I am on Spring Break the first week of March ... we are going to Disney the 2nd - 12th. Only 2 of my friends share the same break week as me, and most others have break the second and third week of March.

I, too, am praying the crowds aren't too bad!

We went 3/5-3/12 last year, it was perfect! The crowds were more than manageable, and we never waited more than 20 minutes on line. We only used FP for Test Track on our last day, and that's b/c kids arrived for a competition. But still, that was the only attraction we needed FP for. This was the 1st time I was there off season, I'm used to going in the summer. I don't think I could ever go back in the summer after seeing how great it was in March! The weather was perfect-- a little chilly in the AMs and after sundown, but mid 70's and sunny during the day. It only rained one day. Have a great time... we're not going back 'till May (1st time there during this time of year) so I'm jealous! Have a great time and tell Mickey we're on our way!!! :-)

Also, Disney was running a special at the value resorts... we only paid $79/night!

I just looked on the UCA website and the cheerleaders will be there March 10-13. I live south of New Orleans and we have the entire week off and heading to Disney as well of 35 families of students I teach. I think we all just want to get away. :sunny:

Many of the breaks are the following two weeks. We were there a similar time last year and it wasn't too bad. Weekends are always more crowded. This year we will be ther March 3-7 ...prior to that in Vero Beach at Dodgertown. And, I'm hoping that crowds are as they were last year -- not too-o-o-o bad. I know our AP rate was about $4 more this year and figured that wasn't too bad. The airlines are not as booked during that time as they are the following weeks, if that helps. I can still get competitive rates for the dates we are flying and there are still seats -- we are coming from AZ, though.
