We are coming to California in August and staying in Carlsbad from the 2-7. we are thinking of going to Legoland,Mission beach and hanging out at the Pacific Palisades. Then we are heading to Disney from the 7th and checking out the 11th.
We are flying home on the 13.
What should we do and where should we stay on the 11 and 12? We have done seaworld already last time. The 12 will have to be close to the airport in san Diego so that we aren't rushed since we'll be travelling with 3 kids ages 5,6 and 8mths.
Any ideas?

Have you been to the SD zoo? That might be an idea. Or there's the Wild Animal Park (I forgot what the new name is). Or you could take a tour of the USS Midway which is an aircraft carrier. DH and I did this a few years ago and it was really interesting even though we're not that into airplanes, ships, etc. It's pretty impressive and you get to look at a lot of airplanes on the flight deck. There are also a bunch of museums near the zoo in balboa park. I believe there is a model train museum ? I've never been to that but thought it sounded interesting, especially if you have boys who lilke trains.

Further away there is a town called Jullian. I've actually never been there either but it's one of these "apple towns" and if it's anything like the apple town by us, it should have U-pick apples and other fall/harvest activities (like maybe hayrides, petting zoo, etc). August should be the start of the apple season.

Hope that gives you some ideas. Sorry I can't help with where you should stay.

The Hotel Del on Coronado Island has an amazing Sunday brunch. Please know that it is very expensive! We went in 2007 and it is what our boys remember and enjoyed the most, over Lego Land and Sea World.

To quote one of them "This is place is food Heaven!!" :cloud9:

What also made it neat was we did the Harbor tour:sail:the day before that took us under the Coronado Bridge, then the next day we went over the bridge to the island.
