We are planning our first ever Disney Trip (kids and I have never been but hubby has) and the first trip to Fort Wilderness. I have a few questions...

1/ we are set to stay 13 nights. We will be there May 20th thru June 3rd.
I imagine we should try and get to the parks the first few days as I imagine
it will get alot busier once Memorial Day weekend hits?

2/ Is 13 days too long? We plan on going to SeaWorld one day and the kids and I would like to go to the beach one day... However, I am wondering if we would do good to cut our stay short a few days and stop for a few days somewhere on the way home? I was thinking about somewhere around Savannah or up towards Hilton Head? We have never been in that area before. Tybee Island sounds interesting, however, dont know if I could handle the mosquitos..

3/ where can I find out which parks will be open early/close late when we will be there?

4/ I have checked with the bike barn regarding golfcart rentals and there are still some available. So, I am thinking about renting one for a few days but I am not sure which days would be best.

At the time of our trip, my son will be 17, my oldest daughter will be 14 and my youngest will celebrate her 5th birthday on the way down to Disney

Thanks!

I don't think 13 days would be too long. I would love to be able to take that kind of time and enjoy myself, and not feel pressured to see and do everything in the one week that we usually have. FW is such a relaxed laid back spot..this will give you plenty of time to enjoy the amenities that the campground offers in addition to the theme parks. I would also recommend that you get a reservation for the Hoop-Dee-Doo-Revue..the dinner show offered in FW. Great family fun.

I've done several two-week trips and agree it isn't too long! It's really nice to not have to cram so much into a short time.

My only advice is to learn as much as you possibly can about WDW before you get there. Otherwise it can be a bit overwhelming on the first visit.

Two weeks at Ft. Wilderness and Disney World is great!!!

You can relax and enjoy everything!!
