Help planning my day using GAD FP voucher

We are experienced WDW visitors, but I'm having trouble figuring out how long this will (or won't take!) using the GAD FPs!! We will be a party of 5 using the FPs on May 30th at MK, May 31st at Epcot, and June 2 at HS. We will use our 4th voucher on a return trip to MK as a party of 4.

Cast: Me (40), Dh (41) Sister in Law (51), dd 12 and dd 10.

MK play May 30th:
We decided to use 2/4 vouchers while touring with my sister in law. It has been years since she has been to Disney World. She enjoys shows and non thrill rides. We will have 6 park days after she leaves with a 3 night "break" at the beach in the middle.

I decided to use them for MK and Epcot as we will be there all day (with a break) and plan on staying Wishes and Illuminations. Decided not to use them at HS since dd and sil won't ride ToT and RnRC. Sil and dd can shop while dh, me, and dd use collected FP for ToT and RnRC. We also have to leave HS by 4:00 to get sil to the airport. We will use GAD FP on our second day at HS.



Magic Kingdom Day 1- May 30- Use GAD FP- we have 5 people in our group
Do we still need to collect FPs as usual?

Rope Drop arrival by 8:30
-Fantasyland rides (not Dumbo) Get PP FP since it is a family favorite
-Haunted Mansion

-Big Thunder Mountain (get FP for later)
-Hall of Presidents
-Jungle Cruise
LUNCH 12:10 at The Plaza (may do Jungle Cruise after lunch depending on time)
CoP (Get SpM FP if available for later)

Space Mountain (sis in law and dd- 12 will skip)
secret path to Toon Town Train stop
Take train to Adventureland/Frontierland
Country Bears
Splash Mountain
Dole Whips
BREAK
Return around 6:30 to use collected FPs
Tikki Room
Liberty Belle
Spectro 9:00/Wishes 10:00

Any ideas about time? Do I have too much before lunch? Would like to leave by 3:00 for a break. Too much?

Normally we plan our day around collecting FPs, so not doing that seems too easy!! : )

I'm a bit confused. Why are you collecting fastpasses and returning later to use them? The GAD fastpasses are instant! You can use them as soon as you get them, that's what makes them so cool! Or are you talking getting regular fastpasses AND GAD ones and riding everything twice?

We'll be there during that same time, using our GAD FPs, although we're going to different parks. I struggled a bit too figuring out the best use of the GAD FP to ride our favs more than once.

Basically with a party of 5, you'll have a total of 15 rides on the following at MK:

Splash Mt, Space Mt, BTMRR, Peter Pan & Pooh

So you need to figure out which of those 1) you want to ride more than once (get regular FP for these), and 2) only part of your group wants to ride (that gives you more rides). If only 3 of you are going on Space Mt, then you'll have 2 extra GAD FPs towards the above group of rides... or use regular FPs for that and take it off of your GAD FP list, unless you want to ride it more than once. Clear as mud?!

At Epcot it's a little easier because you'll have 15 total rides on Soarin & Test Track. If those are rides everyone in your party will want to ride, then you'll have to choose which one you ride twice with your GAD FP and then either ride the other only once, or get a regular FP if you want to ride it twice.

I think your schedule looks fine... I would definitely try to get Jungle Cruise in before lunch (use your GAD FP!). I think wherever possible, use your GAD FP first rather than wait in the stand-by line (unless it's shorter than 10 min) and then grab a regular FP for it if you want to ride it again later. That will save you the most time and then you can use the collected FPs plus whatever's left on your GAD FP at the end of the day after you've done everything else on your list.

Usually we are on a mission to collect fastpasses, so it will be very strange (but wonderful) to just have them! I guess once there it will all fall into place! Although after reading about 10 different articles on the GAD FPs, I think I finally understand it. Can't wait!! Thanks for the support!

When you redeem your GAD voucher for a fast pass it covers up to 6 people at a time. You get a card at the will call window and you use that like a ticket? Or you just show the CM that card and they let you go in line right then? At any rate you don't have a come back time on the GAD ones? I was planning on up grading my vouchers to a 10 day ticket but now we're doing the Y.E.S program, and while that is costing a bit more we'll have hoppers which I wasn't planning on before. Plus the class which I'm not telling the kids about just yet

When you turn in your voucher at Will Call- you will get a second plastic card for each guest. (Eg if you have 5 people there with park tickets, you will get 5 cards...)

You use that card to get instant Fastpasses from the regular FP machine. (It will print out with a time that starts right then.) You can also use your regular park ticket to get regular FP (eg it will print out with a later time.)

A heads up about hopping- your GAD FP card is good ONLY at the park where you got it, on the day you got it.
