Would like to plan one trip with DH and DDs 6 & 10 for December of 2010 that would include a few days with my mother and father-in-law that are FL residents. Probably would stay at ASMo or PC. I would like to return in April of 2011 with my parents in their RV with my DH and DDs. Looking for best ticket options for saving money. Also believe that DH and DD might still stay in a hotel for the April trip. Suggestions please!

I would look into getting an AP pass for anyone who will be going to both trips. I believe if the total for both trips is 9days or more an AP is cheaper. You can also use the AP for free parking, if staying offsite as well as for other discounts. We went in Jan and are going back in May. Those children that are making both trips, I got AP passes for. I ordered our tickets thru Undercover Tourist, and then Upgraded them on our first day of use. It is saving us a fair bit of $. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. I really feel that we will stay on site either way. I am really confused :confused3 as what will work out better especially if I want to get the dining plan. Is it true that you can not get the dining plan with an AP? I am sort of hoping they will offer free dining in December and since that is the longer trip I think that might be more savings than an AP?

If you haven't already booked FW for April 2011, you might not get a site. Easter is very late that year, the last Sunday in April, and that time of year is ultra popular.

If it were me...I would wait to see what kinds of promos come out during your travel period. Unless you are going during Christmas break I would think they would have some kind of package promotion.
You could book the package...and when you arrive and check in, upgrade your tickets to annual passes. Then hopefully use your annual pass for a good deal on a "room only" visit for your next trip and you wouldn't have to buy more tickets...

Ok - let me see if I understand this correctly. We hope to stay at the FW campground in April of 2011 and because this is a popular time of year I should be booking this now? We are planning to go the 1st week of April as our school has put out the calendar for 2011 and we are not getting the week of Easter off. If I make my best deal for the trip in December of 2010 I sort of hoping for free dining as we are hoping to go the 1st week of Dec. I could then upgrade to annual pass if I like when I arrive at WDW? We could always cancel the April 11 reservation if something does not work and I should be much more sure of our 2011 plans when we travel in December?

Yes, it's still Spring Break and it will fill up. Also, generally speaking, a FW campground stay, does not get included in special promotions, but the cabins sometimes do.
