Help! Plan trip or not?

We are planning a June 2011 Grand Gathering Trip. It will be DH, DD, DS, MIL, FIL, Aunt, Cousin, Cousin, Cousin's Wife, cousin's DS, DD, Ds and possible BIL & SIL.

Well, we just found out that cousin might have ovarian cancer (she has more tests on Thursday).

She e-mailed me this morning about discussing plans at our family celebration on Sat. I am worried about booking places (were staying off-site at a house) with the chance that she may have cancer.

If she ends up having cancer, do we need to post-pone the trip? What are the chances she will be okay by June?

Ovarian cancer is very rough and often isn't diagnosed until it is advanced. Dh's aunt was diagnosed early this year and she only lived 2 months and almost half of that was in the hospital. She was stage 4 when she was diagnosed though. It really depends on how far advanced the cancer is. I would put off planning the trip for a couple of months until you can get a better idea of what is going on with her.

I wanted to add to go ahead and discuss the trip, and with enthusiam, but I personally wouldn't book anything at least until you know what is going on. If you do want to book, buy the trip insurance in case you have to cancel.
