Help! One day Disneyland Park Attack Plan

I am just saying, if for any reason your booked LL (ride or time) ends up not working for you, don’t cancel the LL. Just modify the already-booked LL so you can retain the original 2 hour block out time instead of restarting the 2 hour clock. If your ride and time of booking the LL work out, no need to do anything but ride when the time comes!! But if you want to move it earlier, move it later or change the ride altogether, then MODIFY, don’t cancel.

Let me give an example:
I book TSSM at 11am with a return time of noon-1pm. My next chance to book a LL is either at 1pm (2 hours after I booked this one) OR when I use this LL, which ever is SOONER. I am about to go on TSMM at 12:15pm, and my kid vomits…. Ok so we will not be riding TSSM right now. If I cancel the LL and book either TSMM or any other ride’s LL, my 2 hour block out starts over from right now, so I can’t book another LL until 2:15pm (2 hours from right now). If instead, I MODIFY my LL for TSMM, I can choose a later return time when my kid will feel better (let’s say the return time is now 4-5pm) or I can choose another ride instead of TSMM. Either way, if I MODIFY the existing LL, I can still book my next LL at 1pm (2 hours after the original LL was booked), as opposed to 2 hours from right now (if I CANCELLED this original LL). I hope this makes sense.

It is critical to understand how the block out window works, so that you can maximize the value of your G+ and minimize criss-crossing the parks and riding things “out of sequence” geographically. It also minimizes block out times, which helps you max out G+ before some LLs “sell out” (though even when it says LLs are no longer available for the day for a ride, if you refresh a bunch or check back later, LLs often reappear for booking).

Egads DumboLover111, that is some hardcore DL/CA action right there! Long ago I was much like this but have eased up a bunch and treat it more like when we vacation at Cannon Beach, OR. Stay longer and take it at a more leisurely pace. Not do everything at a microwave pace. I do realize that everyone is different and have time constraints and such but always take the time to breathe it all in. Cheers!
We enjoy the frenetic pace! We are typically "one day and done" Disney people, although on that particular visit we tried to do a second day. However, it was 109F (112F "feels like") and just too hot to be enjoyable. We ended up going back after dusk to do a few more rides. Normally, we would have added Haunted Mansion and Matterhorn to our single-day tally, but Matterhorn was closed and Haunted Mansion had just reopened with its Halloween theming, so the lines were insane. (LL was at 60+ minutes, regular line was two hours.) We did rope drop it the second day and squeezed it in before the insane heat started.

We're just back from a day at Disneyland Paris and you'll be relieved to know we only did 14 rides there. ;) In any case, our experience has always been that it's possible to do a ton in a single day, and that, as everyone has said, the key is starting as early as possible.

That's a great post DumboLover111. I don't mind the heat when I am on vacation but that 112F would have been brutal as you mentioned.
Glad to see you "took it easy" in Paris, LOL.
Cheers!

Wow thanks all for your input, especially twodogs and Dumbolover111. Super helpful, especially the LL and MEP info. Will cross fingers that a ride goes down. We ended up pushing our trip by a day due to the hurricane so hoping that there are no issues with the park itself. Re-working the plan now. ( I know it's late but crazy busy here the last few days so doing my best!)

So just to confirm with the LL when I book a ride with Genie+ I can't book the next one until the 2 hour clock runs out or we ride the ride? This is similar to the old fastpass but without the paper. Correct?

Any if I understand the "modify" aspect. I just keep refreshing the screen on the existing LL until I get a better time but I can't hold more than one at any given time?
So how did your trip go? Any tips for my first visit to DL? Did you get the MEP? Hope it was great!
