Hey DISer's! I'm leaving for the World in less than a week!!! (as long as Hanna doesn't cause me any issues).

I have a Canon SD800 that is great for putting in my pocket or a small purse and has an amazing battery life. I'm definitely bringing this one.

Then I have a brand new Canon Rebel XSi with the kit lens, and a Sony DSC-H5. I love the Sony because of the zoom (don't feel like I can fork up the extra money for a telephoto lens on my Rebel yet).

Should I bring all 3? Is that crazy? I like the zoom on the Sony (12x) but have fallen in love  with my XSi over the past week. I can't bear to leave her at home but I'm afraid to take her at the same time! I've never lugged a dSLR around the parks. I'm not sure how it'd work out. I'm also afraid of leaving over $1K worth of cameras in the room if I take my little Canon to the parks. Anyone have any ideas or advice?

I would say nothing wrong with bringing two cameras, the Canon SD and one of the others (probably the Sony with its zoom).

1. There will probably be some times (such as at night) when the SD's lens is not fast enough and you need a DSLR.

2. If one camera breaks, you have the other.

It would be a good idea to decide on which day you will be a photographer (for whom lugging around is a non-problem) and bring the DSLR which you really can use for all shots, and on which days you will be just a park guest and bring the SD for casual snapshooting.

Well, you have three cameras that each excel in an area that the others do poorly in...

One is clearly the most physically convenient (though slower to use than the other)
One clearly has the most zoom
One clearly has the best image quality

Only you can decide which one is most important for you... if it was me, I couldn't live with myself if I left the DSLR at home, so that's a given. Beyond that... probably the Sony for the extra zoom and features, and is it really that much bigger than the Canon? (Yes, it's bigger, but should still easily fit into a small purse... though I wouldn't know, purses are my wife's bag, no pun intended. :lmao: )

I'd have to go with the dSLR and the kit lens. I have found telephoto to be of little importance at either WDW or the Land. In fact, wider has always served me better than a long lens for most cases. Now, if you're real interest lies at AK, then by all means, the longer lens, the better (if you can get them to stop the truck). Even then, there are too few opportunities to justify the need for a long lens. I'd pick the dSLR quality. Then, your P&S.
