HELP! Okay, I'm an idiot...

But then again that's always your advice. OP, welcome and good luck. I probably should have read the entire thread before I posted but I'm impetuous.

Hmmmm, now that I've read the thread, good luck on Easter. Although miracles do happen!

BTW Great going guys, Rhonda's already upset about OT posts!

i was just trying to help.

Wow, this thread sure went downhill fast! Keep trying, and pray for a little Disney magic. The resorts are great, but keep in mind that over the next few days is when people will be canceling for Easter. Keep on trying, like a million times a day!:goodvibes

BTW, I agree that you've been grumpy lately, Pete. Somebody pee in your cornflakes, or something?

Tropical Palms RV Resort is not far from WDW and is not bad. It's not nearly as nice as FW, but we did the same thing last year...waited too late to call!

Have you tried to piece-meal a trip...A day here...two days there...another day or two. A good number of folks here are able to get a whole trip this way. It means you would have to check in again and again but a lot of folks have been lucky and not have to move from their site. Could be something to try...

Piece whatever you can together. Try online and by phone. We have done it that way several times. Remember people can cancel up to 5 days before and still get there deposit back. As it gets closer people will cancel. We have had luck online very early in the morning. Try one day at a time and add to it. If that doesn't work try a longer period of time and then take off a day at a time to see what you can get. Good Luck!

Rhonda only asked FOR ONE THREAD!!!!!!!

Man I cant believe I spent the whole day in the garage when all of ya'll have been so damn funny today!!! You guys are on fire!!!

And since when do NEW POSTERS come in and shine like this guy BDIAMOND!!!! Man, you're hilarious and you are now DRAFTED into the DIScamp...resistance is futile. Welcome aboard and if you not getting a site keeps you funny, then I hope you never step foot on FtW again!!!;)

Theres some good advice here! :lmao: :lmao: Seriously hope it all makes since. Here's to getting what you want!:wizard: Just keep calling & check in online there will be some cancelations!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the compliments and all the great advice. I am gonna try the "one day at a time" (definitely gonna need the 'sweet jesus' part to come through). My wife has decided we should just scrap the whole FW thing all together and stay in a Walmart parking lot..."after all honey it is free". Remember the post about the bail and impound fee and the 200+ room being cheaper? STILL would be cheaper than a "free" overnight at Wally World! I just got out fo the car and started walking. When she asked me what I was doing i just kept walking and yelled over my shoulder..."I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!"

Ok so try booking at a KOA near Disney. Friends of ours did that when they bought their first TT right before Thanksgiving last year. They secured some sites at the Ft. 1 week before leaving on their trip. They did lose a deposit from the KOA, but it was well worth it.

It is stressful but you never know.

Wally World, bad idea. I'm pretty sure it's illegal in FL. Remember, the goal is to save the bail money for WDW. Here is a website listing all the campgrounds relatively close to WDW. Hmmm, Cypress Cove looks interesting. If you are intent on staying at The Fort, and you should be, start calling at 7am EST. That is when cancellations from the previous day are released in the reservation system.

When I was in college, I worked for the college as a bail bondsman - I kept real busy on Friday/Saturday nights. I am thinking of reviving this occupation at FW. I think BDR and Gatordad alone will keep me busy enough to justify it to FW.

*running around screaming like an 8 year old girl* I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took everyone's advice, set up my little fridge and microwave next to the recliner and started calling. the lady at the CRO said, "I know that's gonna be booked, do you want to try a resort property?" I told her about the board and all my new crazy friends and she said, "OMG, I have a site...for two days!"
