My DH and I just decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary at WDW on May 21-25. We have been many times in September with and without the kids, and realize that is the ultimate in low crowds. Wondering just how different this time in May will be versus Sept? It looks like the weather might be similar but with more humidity probably in Sept, but wondering about the crowds in parks and at fireworks etc. In Sept, we rarely have to use fastpass nor do we have to book many priority seatings - what's it like in May? Also, the weekend we go is during when the new park Early and Late hours end (on May 22)...if it is successful, will they just continue on, or can I count on 23-25th being the normal EMH? Thanks, Jo:wizard:

Hi Jo!! We've been to WDW many times in May, and it is one of my very favorite times to go. If you like flowers you will love the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot. As far as the crowds, I'm sure many more than September, but not as many as during the summer months. Honestly, I always get Fast Passes when available, unless there is less than a 20 minute wait posted. As far as PS, I've never had a problem with calling that morning from our room, unless you want to eat somewhere really popular like Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, and CRT, especially if there are only two of you. We've never even had a problem getting PS for SciFi or Prime Time with calling the morning of the day we want to eat there. We're going May 13-18, so I'll let you all know how the testing went.:D

We went last year in May for the first time and are going back this year.We had fallen in love with the fall Sep/Oct touring but an opportunity presented itself so we jumped on the May bandwagon. The crowds are not as low as Sept. I think I did fastpass once last year and have pictures taken from 3 of the 4 parks where there are very few people. I knew no one would believe me when I said there were no crowds. MGM was crowded due to Star Wars weekend as it will be this year I'm sure. We got a really good seat for SpectroMagic without having to stake it out too far in advance. I can't speak for the fireworks as DD does not like loud noises. All the PS I've made this time with no problems but I did make them just to be sure. As for the weather it was 95 degrees everyday last year (May 15-19) it was hot and humid and it rained briefly at 5 pm everyday but I was will to endure that as the last 2 or 3 times I'd been in the fall the latest tropical storm seemed to blow in while we were there....I think May is a great time...have a good time:thewave: :thewave:

well they are reporting higher traffic this may than expected due to star wars weekend the garden festival and the extra magic hour. I called to make fantasmic ps and some others today and was told some were booked, so call now!!

with that said we usually go this time of year and it didn't seem to be overly crowded in the past.

We found that May was pretty crowded. I'm sure the crowds don't compare to holiday or summertime crowds, but the parks were noticeably much busier than February or September (our 2 favorite times of the year to visit WDW).

We were there last May and loved it (I wish we were going this May too). The weather is nice, it rained only a couple of times and I thought the humidity was manageable. The crowds weren't too bad... line-ups for most rides was about 25 minutes so if you use FPs you'll do okay :)
