Hi all,

HELP NEEDED -

Travelling from Australia to orlando in Jan 2017. Was thinking of doing a week at WDW then 7night cruise with a further few days at WDW after cruise. Was thinking of getting a 10 day Hopper pass, but just realised they expire after 14 days!!!! Which means I would lose 4 days on the tickets. Can the time for use of the tickets be extended or would have have to start all over again and buy further tickets which aren't gunna be a cheap???

Look into a annual pass maybe it will be cheaper. Or you could do 10 straight days at wdw than the cruise

I know visitors from the UK have access to passes that are longer than 10 days. I don't know for sure but those passes could allow more than 14 days to use them. If so, maybe there's a similar pass available to Australian visitors. Something to look into at least.

Otherwise, I agree your other options are two separate tickets or an annual pass.

Hello - we are doing the same thing. Travelling from Oz in April 2017. We are doing WDW first and then 7 night Eastern cruise on The Fantasy. We found the same problem and thought do WDW first as it will be go go go and busy and then do the cruise for a relaxing week. Which cruise are you completing.

You may be able to buy the 21 day unlimited ticket that UK residents can buy.

I've had many a rant to on these boards about this problem and how DCL should have a special extension on park tickets. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any Australians that convinced Disney we should be eligible for the same offers as UK residents. We get Disneyland specials only since that is closer but of course I want to take my longer trips in Orlando since there are more parks, cruise, resorts etc. if you ask some questions on the 'other lands - Australia' board some Aussies/kiwis may have tips.

You could consider doing park only before or after the cruise. 10 days in the park is pretty daunting. You could plan a few days after the cruise, even staying at a Disney resort, and try Universal or other Orlando attractions. Probably a better way to use your money than paying the premium on tickets again.

We are doing the Western on the fantasy from 21/01/17 - airline prices are cheap after the 10/01/17 so was thinking of squezzing in 3 or 4 days at Disneyland before heading to Orlando, hence my issue with the 14 day expiry. But think I will stick with Orlando only. 10 at WDW, then cruise and 5 days at Universal to round out the trip. It seems this trip is starting to consume my life!!!!

We are doing the Western on the fantasy from 21/01/17 - airline prices are cheap after the 10/01/17 so was thinking of squezzing in 3 or 4 days at Disneyland before heading to Orlando, hence my issue with the 14 day expiry. I know what you mean. We did Disneyland in April 2014 and then Western Carribean Cruise from Orlando. We did 7 days Disneyland and stayed at The Camelot (was ok but wouldnt stay there again). We luved the western carribean cruise. The Fantasy is a wonderful ship - we luved it. We are now doing Eastern carribean cruise in april 2017. Staying at Caribe Royale (we stayed there in 2014) but hopefuly we can stay onsite at one of the parks - not able to book it atm as bookings only until December 2016. We are doing WDW first then the cruise. Using frequent flyer points to fly return. Travel expo on USA travel being held in August. Hope to pick up some deals then.

I am from Sydney we just did a trip 16th Dec to 20th Jan,
We spent 4 nights in Anaheim on the way to Orlando where we spent 14 nights onsite at CBR, I bought 8 day passes, we then spent 5 nights at Cabana Bay for Universal, then 7 night Disney Fantasy, then we stayed 4 nights at BWI and I had to buy 2 day passes to cover this part as we wanted to go back to MK & Epcot.
There are no tickets that you can get to cover you as they have to be used within 14 days,
I did look into buying the pass that covers both Disneyland & WDW, but I would have to have purchased it at DL, which even though it was only a little cheaper than the route I went down, it wasn't going to work for me as I would not have been able to make my FP until I got to DL & bought the pass.
Wasn't going to happen, as we were at WDW over Xmas & needed FP.
So it did cost more to buy 8 day & then 2 day , but we did get free dining for our 14 nights at WDW, which saved a lot , because we did some great resturants and then for BWI in the Jan, we got room only discount.
Had a great time, I have done a full trip report in the Aussie section of the dis.
Make sure you slot in a free day or 2 , you will need it.
Also go to the outlets & do a airboat ride, also Kennedy Space Centre , was fantastic. We did the space centre on our trip in 2013 .
Visitors from the UK get really good deals from Disney, not us poor Aussies, who have to travel up to 24hrs to get to Mickeys House lol.

Hi, thanks for the info and look forward to reading your report. Just booked our flights through United ($3,500 cheaper than Qantas 3 adults & 2 kids) . Due to dates just going to do first 10 days at WDW (Possibly spread between Fort Wilderness cabin and Port Orleans) then 7 night cruise, a night at Port Canaveral after cruise so we can get to Kennedy Space Centre then to Hard Rock at Universal for 6 days. Gives the wife and daughter a chance to shop!!!! Gee the cost adds up quickly, but have no doubt it will be worth it. Any tips on the cruise - is the photo package worth it (I will purchase anyway) and did you happen to do parasailing or the jet ski at Castaway Key. Also what was the weather like on the cruise?

Re the cruise, we didn't do anything on Castaway Cay , because we didn't dock, they tried a couple of times and then gave up, was really a big disappointment, but what can you do.
Yep it all adds quickly lol, I would do another cruise , but they are so expensive and with flights ect , not sure we will get back over there.
I didn't buy the photo package, we only had a few character photos done, the lines were always massive and we couldnt be bothered with it all.
Make sure u get the ticketed ones though for the princess & Anna & else, I lined up for about 15 mins when we boarded to get those.
When you get on board go to Enchanted Garden for lunch instead of Cabanas, it's a bit more civil.
