We are bringing our church youth group from Canada down for a week in August. Most of them have never been to Disney, been South, or even flown! I want to plan some fun Restaurants for them. We have our favourites from coming with our kids, but wondering about something we may be missing. We are planning for Sci Fi, Coral Reef, and Whispering Canyon. We are considering either Chef Mickey's or LIberty Tree Tavern, and maybe something on the Boardwalk. We have 7 nights on the Dining Plan.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you

Are you looking for something known for the food, or more for the Disney atmosphere? :)

I would like both:goodvibes . However, I think for them they may appreciate the Disney atmosphere even more than the food.

Sci-Fi and 50's PT would definitely be good choices! We had a lot of fun at Chef Mickey's too. LTT has great character interaction. Maybe also try a WS restaurant for dinner, to get a feel for different cultures. Biergarten has the music entertainment and the floor to dance and Morocco has the belly dancers. Both could be really fun. DF and I love the atmosphere at Tony's as well, even though some people don't enjoy the food, we do! Crystal Palace could also be great since it's an icon. Ahh...there's too many! :rotfl: Hope you enjoy your picks!

Thank you so much for your help. Any thoughts on a Boardwalk restaurant? Thought that might be fun but have never been there ourselves.

I can't think of much on the boardwalk for teens.... Beaches and cream is really good at the beach club. Good burgers and great ice cream for after.

Have you considered Rainforest Cafe...we went to the one at DTD last year. Surroundings were different, food was actually ok (despite bad reviews). I thought it was quite expensive but enjoyable:thumbsup2

I agree with ice cream on the boardwalk. The shop is cute. ESPN isn't that much of a thrill and Spoodles and Flying Fish is really about the food. Rainforest I've heard mixed things. We have one right by our house and we brought our friends. They said when all the animals went off, like the monkeys and elephants, it was sooo annoying. :rotfl: I guess we were used to it.

I appreciate all of the replies. Should have also asked - is the Boardwalk worth doing, as I have never been there? Thought it sounded like something fun for them.

I would say there wouldn't be enough for young teens to do - just a few side stalls - they are too young to be allowed into the clubs

A restaurant to consider that's not on the Boardwalk but close by would be the Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club. Plenty there for non seafood loving people.

We enjoy the Boardwalk. The whole area. Walking around Crescent Lake and taking part in some of the silly carnival games. Renting some surrey bikes. A bit beyond the Swan is Fantasia miniature golf. You could have a tournament with the group with the highest score, the lowest score (someone has to have that, why shouldn't they be rewarded?). Each foursome could take a picture of themselves on their favorite hole. You can even do something like best/worse score by anyone with an orange ball.

And, if you don't want the whole sit down meal thing, there's a take out pizza window. Or, for those who get hungry an hour after they eat, it's still there.

I just returned from WDW from our spring break trip which included 4 teenagers. We ate our way through the resort and the kids seemed to enjoy the Prime Time Cafe, Hoop de doo review (they ate more here than anyplace else, a little pricey but worth it) and the character breakfast at Restaurantasourus in Animal Kingdom. We also ate at the French and Japanese (service was terrible) in EPCOT. Food was very good at both places and of course counter service throughout most of the parks.
