Will try to be brief:

Currently booked a package for Sept 19-26: 7 nights at WL, 8 day base tickets, free dining.

Dh is whining about staying so long. :sad2: Wants a shorter trip. So I may need to knock a day off the end.

How does this work? If I call Disney to change to Sept 19-25, can they keep my original reservation and just take the day at the end off, and change our passes to 7-day tickets? (I'd also probably get park hopping added if we do this, if that matters.)

In short... do I have to cancel my existing ressie and book a whole new one? Or can I keep the one I have and just have them remove one night?

TIA.

Every single aspect of a reservation can be modified except the lead guests name

According to my TA you can just knock a day off. I just asked her about this today since we are booked for 1 week but may be able to go for 2. Unfortunately we won't know about the 2nd week until July after the booking period for free dining is over. She said we can book the 2 weeks and modify it to 1 week if we can't get the extra time off.

It depends on what time you get there in the morning and what time you leave. You will lose a day at the end going to the airport, its really busy if leaving on Sat or Sun. The time will go fast once you get there.
We like the park hopper it allows you to go to one park in the morning come back to the resort rest shower then go to the park that you have dinner reservations at. We set up dinner reservations at the park thats open late that night so we can look around, its not as busy with only resort people being there. Just my opinion on what to do.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

Still trying to talk him into keeping 8 days/7 nights, but at least now I know if we need to take a day off, we won't have to rebook and risk losing our free dining.

TY!
