Help needed on choosing new camera!

currently i have a canon a520......its a few years old. I also have an older Sony cybershot ( i don't use it anymore it has a prob and doesnt always work properly).......

I also have a sony handycam from yr 2000....... it isn't digital, it uses those small tapes.........and i also have a small "pure digital" camcorder pocket size, but my 4 yo recently got hold of it, and now it doesn't work!

soooooo, I would like to replace my canon with something with a little more mp, and zoom,
i really don't want to buy a new camcorder, i use the one with tapes here at home, the other pocket one was nice to bring on trips, but that won't be happening since it is broke.
so recently i have just been using my camera to shoot little movies of the kids here and there
so what is a good digital camera i can get that takes good still pics , mostly of the kids inside and outside.......and also will take good movies too?
or am i asking too much!!!

I don't have the budget to go slr.........i like the pocketsize cameras and would like to stay in that area, and simple.

now im also thinking of the canon s5 or 3 if i can find one. even though it is a bit bigger than pocket size.
any thoughts at all?
