Hi

Just wondered if anyone has been to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, what you thought of the food and entertainment and if you would recommend it.

Many Thanks :goodvibes

We have been many times and would definitely recommend both the food and the entertainment. Be sure to arrive for the wonderful pre-show!

Dixie Stampede is, in my opinion, the best all-around family dinner show entertainment in the area. Grandma and Grandpa will enjoy it as much as 4 year old Susie or Johnny. And (astonishingly enough!) the food is tasty, plentiful, and hot.

Just to let you know that you eat with your fingers. I did not know and was very surprised that there was no knife, fork or soup spoon.

I really did not care for the show IMOP.

We did this show and really enjoyed it. You sit in long rows and the food is served fairly quickly. We thought the food was good. As we were going to our seats our dd was picked to be part of the show so she had a blast. Just know that when you first go in they are going to want to sell you a glass for drinks during the pre-show. They also take your family's pic and then send you through the store. Overall it was a nice night.

It's a very good show. I've went in the past and I love the food!!! YUM!!! But, I can't go anymore. I'm allergic to horses, hay, and dust. Well, that is what the show is about!!! LOL! Anyways, I can't breathe so I decided not to go anymore :) But, there is also a preshow that is really good!!!! Also, the Christmas show is awesome.

we went in june 2005 and loved it. like they said, no silverware. also, the dust, hay, horse allergy thing was a big problem for my son. we asked to be seated in the back row and he still plugged up the second the horses entered the arena. the food and show were great!

We went to the one in Branson, Mo. We enjoyed it (2 moms and 2 kids ages 5 and 6) but with the cost I think once was enough. The food is good, nothing fancy. The show is alright, NOT Disney quality. Having said that, we did enjoy ourselves but won't be going back.

Also, the DISer who said the hay and dust is bad is right on! If you are allergic to those it could be a miserable trip. Finally, spend some time touring the stables before the show and the pre-show, in Branson, was a very funny juggler.

I've been to the one in Branson, too. I've been twice. I think the food is wonderful and they give you lots of it. The last time we went they included a drink in a souvenir boot cup in the price of the ticket, something new they started. I think it's a good value with the preshow, meal, and show. You can check out the menu on their website.

Here they use a special "dust free" ground covering. My husband and I both have allergies and had no problem.

For those who enjoy 'horse themed' dinner shows but have allergies, consider Arabian Nights. They have a closed-off viewing booth large enough for 30 (50? more? not sure) people in consideration for those with allergies (or special parties that reserve private viewing).

DH, DD21, DD19, DD17, and I went to Dixie Stampede in Branson 3 weeks ago. We all enjoyed the pre-show, main show and food very much. We had a very good waiter that gave my DD's extra attention (he was probably close to their age and very cute!). Lots of food and very entertaining. Worth the money for dinner and a show.

I have been to the Dicie Stampede show in Myrtle beach. The show was excellent, and the food was very good. I snuck in some plastic silverware(I know my bad) and some extra wetnaps. I would recommend the show, it is very good family entertainment. :Pinkbounc

We've been a couple of times to the one in Pigeon Forge - never had a problem with the dust. I thought it would be a problem - but no...

It is a bit pricey but the food is very plentiful and the show is good.

okay I checked out the website. $46.99 and the food didn't even look good in the picture. Yuck. I'd be upset if I paid that much for that. We won't be trying that anytime soon. Just not for us.

We have been many times and have it enjoyed it much. It basically is the north against the south. Our civil war. But you never know who is going to win. I have been at least 6 times to the one at Orlando, Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge. The food is a small hen, potato, soup (cream soup) corn, a slice of pork and an apple turn over. The apple turnover was the least favorite part as it did not contain many apples. But the show is wonderful and everyone partakes in it. The music is nice too. I am not sure if they have the buffalo this year or not, but being that I am part Native American the first part of the main show was special to me. Go a few minutes prior to the pre show and the horses are on the outside for viewing. They are magnificent animals. We found the one in Orlando to be very nice and the pre show was great. The boot mug is a nice souvenier, no alcohol drinks. Hope you have a great time there. :flower:

I've been to the one in Myrtle Beach and our whole family (with in-laws, etc) really enjoyed it. There were 14 of us ranging in age from 2 1/2 - 64. I was worried that my 2 1/2 year old at the time would not be able to sit through it. He proved me wrong! He wouldn't eat the food - I think he was a little put out with not be able to use a fork. Same for my DD age 4. Luckily, I smuggled in PB&J sandwiches. If I did it again, I would smuggle in food and/or utensils for them. :smooth: OR have them eat before we went.

The area was a dust-free environment and we had no problems at all and my son and I both have allergies. :)

We enjoyed the show, but you really need to "hoot and holler" and let your guard down! :Pinkbounc

We were at the one in Pigeon Forge a week & 1/2 ago, It was absolutley FABULOUS!!! The food was excellant, who cares you don't get silverware chicken & corn on the cob are finger food!! I have allergies & asthma very bad & I never had one problem. We had front row seats & there wasn't ANY dust. We bought the sovenier boot mugs for $4 each, I had a strawberry daquari slushy & my DD had an orange dreamsicle slushy (both nonalcohol), they were delicious. We are already making plans to go back to Tennessee next summer & doing Dixie Stampede again!

They ran a special last year for Disney CMs, 60% off the price. Not sure if we caught it on an "off night" but we thought it was awful.

I'm sure there are others that liked it though.

I've been to the one in Pigeon Forge a few times. Lots of fun. :) Just don't sit on the front row! We made that mistake last time and got dirt on our plates! Yuck :earboy2:

My allergies started acting up the minute I got out of the car in the parking lot. Other than the fact that I had to blow my nose and sneeze constantly, it was fun. The food was good, what I could taste of it! lol The chicken just fell apart it was so tender.
