Help Needed from Verizon cell phone users!

I have a person that keeps texting me and I don't know who they are. I asked them and they keep spouting crazy crap and won't leave me alone. Is there a way I can block their number?

I asked this question to a friend and was told that you can't block individual numbers. I would call Verizon and make sure, but I'm pretty sure you can't.

we had to have a solicitor blocked...I called Verizon ( the number on the bill) from the phone that was receiving the calls ( so they could verify it was indeed our phone) they were able to set up a block, DS still gets the calls "into" his phone somehow, but the block message that verizon set up automatically answers the call..I don't even think it rings, but we see the text message in his incoming messages.
Sorry you are going thru this...it can really be annoying.

I had to have texting disabled from my account in order to stop solicitors. Verizon told me they could not block single numbers, it had to be all texts or none.
