What is the best dark chocolate you have ever had and where can I buy it.

Just tried some GHIRARDELLI Twilight Delight 72%CACAO and was hoping for better.

Have you tried Green and Blacks? I remember a few years back on day trips to France used to get a lovely dark bar but cannot recall who it was made by!

Claire ;)

I really like the Godiva Chocalate 72% cacao squares.

But then again, since I did work there I am rather partial to their chocolates anyway. :)

I have a brother that lived in Brussels for 5 years who indulged my dark chocolate passion. The best I ever tried was Pierre Marcolini http://www.marcolinichocolatier.com/

There is a store in NYC that may do mail order but the prices here are obscene compared to Brussels.

Lindt. I think Lindt makes the best chocolate available. My husband is very picky about chocolate (he's Dutch) and his favorite is Lindt.

I would say Godiva, as a great chocolate that you can buy almost everywhere.

I'm in love w/ Esther Price, and a small local shop. Both only in Ohio.

Thanks for the replies. I think I found a site for chocolate lovers, worldwidechocolate.com

They even have El Rey Venezuelan 100% Pure Cocoa Nibs at $12.99/16oz. bag. Think I might give it a try.

I love dark chocolate. I buy from Trader Joe's. I don't remember which one I like best. I buy a variety of bars and just keep" tasting lol. I like a high percent of cocoa too, I don't like sweet dark chocolate.

Green And Blacks organic from the UK..Some grocery stores have it

I work at Sur La Table(they have stores throughout the country, and also a website). They sell Scharfenberger(spelling???). It is FABULOUS!!! They have great dark chocolate!!!

I love that store! Lucky you! We usually go by the one in Denver when we go out west.

OP, find a good local chocolaterie (is that a word? confiserie might be better)
Usually they are the best.

I can't remember the name, but they sell it in the store in Germany in Epcot. I love German chocolate, got hooked on it when I lived in Germany for three years.

Godiva.. and there are candy bars at Target from some chocolate maker that come in flavors like dark chocolate covered cherries (from Michigan I might add. ;)) and my fave flavor which is dark chocolate with candied ginger.

Depends on what you want to spend.

If you're looking for stuff available in grocery stores, you might try Green and Blacks, Scharffen Berger, Dagoba, or Endangered Species Chocolate.

If you like chocolatier chocolate, I'm a fan of Vosges (Chicago, New York, Las Vegas).

Lindt has 98% dark chocolate. It's special, but very goo dif you eat only smart portions of it!
