What is the best and most cost effective way for 4 adults to get from MCO to our resort? Taxi? Towncar ahead of time? Please give suggestions on what we should do. Every other time we took a shuttle but it stops at every resort and is a real pain in the neck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

For 4 people a town car is definitely the way to go. Check out Fl Tours, a sponsor of this site. I believe you can click on the top of this page or try fltours.com. There are a lot of different town car services available. MUCH better than Mears. They will take you directly to your hotel and you can even make a grocery stop along the way if you want. They meet you in the baggage claim and it's much easier and quicker than Mears. Check out the info on mousesaver.com, allearsnet.com and keep reading these boards for everyone's experiences with different companies. You do need to make a reservation ahead of time.

4 adults in a mears shuttle will set you back $116 round trip.

For a towncar, roundtrip to Magic Kingdom resorts and Kissimmee area hotels, it's $115 round trip. To All Stars, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and all other Disney hotels it's $105 roundtrip. Downtown Disney hotels (Hotel Plaza Blvd) is $90 rountrip.

I'd definitely take a towncar.

We've discovered that very often it's cheaper to rent a car for a week then it is to take a shuttle or towncar. You also then have the flexibility of not having to take WDW transportation everywhere

I would agree town car...I know that sometimes having the car can be fun, but I hate trying to figure out the roads while I have to catch a plane (and we used to have a house in FL). There are several good town car services...Fl tours, someone recently posted a great experience, there is also a coupon for Happy Limo at www.mousesavers.com , and I also remember reading another wonderful posting about Orlando Transportation (www.transportation2disney.com) . Do a little research, there are a lot of opinions out there.
I just like the no hassle of someone picking you up, the convience of a grocery stop, and the professionalism of the drivers. Good luck.

Thanks you guys. You are so helpful. I will do some research and get a town car. I like the idea of our own car for the week but i don't want to have to worry about getting it back on time among other things and rather just have someone pick us up. Thanks again.

I agree with canwegosoon's recommendation of Happy Limo...we used them last year and I wouldn't consider anyone else!!!

I love having a car at WDW, but I've done the "town car" thing before, with Tiffany's Towncars....I think it's the way to go if you defiantly do not want a car with you and don't mind Disney transportation!
If you go the town car route...don't forget to ask about the 30 minute grocery stop most towncar services provide if you're inclined to pick up stuff for your room. We always bought some beer, a few soda/waters, snacks, cream of my in-room coffee and sometimes we bought Krispy Kreme doughnuts to go along with my morning coffee!!! ;)
Have fun!
