Hi,

Have found some great prices with Delta (from Manchester to Orlando via Atlanta) via Netflights.

Can anyone please give me thoughts on Delta and any on Netflights.

Really appreciate your input.

Many thanks

i've only flown delta into detroit..
my mom has flown delta transatlantic via atlanta and was very happy with the service..

I flew with Delta to NYC in Feb. Can't fault them really, staff very friendly, food going out was ok but coming back I didn't like it but that is the only complaint I have really

We flew Delta to Detroit from Heathrow and they were the best transatlantic flights we've ever done.

Wouldn't hesitate to do that route again!

Delta is my main airline to get to Florida and I like them very much. Changing planes in Atlanta is very fast and immigration there is pretty well organized.

BTW, did you also check the flight fares directly on Delta's website? I usually use Orbitz and Travelocity to compare prices but in the end, booking directly on the airlines website usually is the least expensive option.

We have booked our flights to florida through netflights for the past 3 years (they were previously airline network). Everything was very straight forward, we received conformation emails and our flight documents were sent to us from the airline as an e-ticket.
We would have used them again this year but i saw Martin Lewis on GMTV talking about kayak.co.uk, we found some amazing deals on here, our flight was over £200 cheaper than the cheapest on netflights.
:)

i've flown delta once, in via JFK, home via Atlanta, it was fine, Atlanta airport I liked much more than JFK.

Netflights fine (part of Thomas Cook group I think?) and Delta too. If the price suits, don't hesitate. We have used both many times and had a bit of an issue with a car hire problem being resolved by NF this year, but other than that, great service.

Thanks for all your help guys.

My choice originally was Continental from Edinburgh but I was really stupid and didn't book when the prices were £1900 in November when my dates were released because in 2008 they dropped down by £400 in February.

This was what I was hoping would happen but instead the prices have been going up.

When I checked today the cheapest Continental price was £2268 with a 5 hour delay in between flights.

So, it's now only 5 months until we go and I was considering cancelling the holiday because the flights were just too high.

I have just booked with netflights - 3 adults and 1 child.

From Manchester via Atlanta on 19th September, departing 10.30am arriving 6.30pm.

From Orlando via Atlanta on 13th October, departing 2.50pm arriving 7.45am next day.

Total price including credit card charge - £1873.38.

So now we just have a 5 hour drive to Manchester and a hotel to find.

Thanks again for all your help :thumbsup2

I
I know exactly how you felt.We ahd booked our accom and had to change the dates as flights so expensive on the 18th 19th and 20th. We kept looking and a week ago last friday VA had a" low day" though seemed bloomin high to me:rotfl: and got 2 adults and a child for £1515. Still high for september . We were so close to booking the flight you were on going on and there was also one with AA for £1215 but flight times were 16 going out and 13 coming back.(not too bad for the money). I bet the airlines are in their element now -prices rising ready for take off:mad:

Hi Paula!!:lmao:

When did you book? Sometimes is takes a few days for the e-ticket to come through. Any problems, I would just give them a call as I have always found them to be more than helpfull:thumbsup2

We usually book the car with them as well as they usually endup one of the cheapest and they use dollar which I prefer to Alamo, but thats just my opinion:confused3

have you started planning yet:woohoo::banana:

We have been using Delta for all our Orlando trip lately. We live only a few hours from USA-Canadain Border and save over 75% by flying from Maine instead of Nova Scotia or New Brunswick. I have used several online Airline ticket services to get my tickets, but have found calling Deltas own 800 number gave me the best prices I could find and the staff was helpfull and friendly. I have conected in Boston, Detroit and JFK and all were easy to get through but JFK was very dirty and congested. Hope this helps Delta is a good airline just remember they charge for checked bags. :surfweb:

Only booked at 5pm tonight so am not expecting anything to come through for a few days yet anyway!

I'm not doing anything with the car hire at the moment, we paid £350 for exactly the same dates in 2008 with US Rentacar for an intermediate with free upgrade to full but it's at £513 at the moment so i'm holding off for a bit. The car hire is way down on my list to organise but I did check Netflights anyway and it's sitting at £490 for an intermediate.

Started planning way back in October when I booked with Disney UK but to be honest because of the flight problems I haven't booked any ADR's just in case but now I have my flights I can go right on and do that now:cool1:
