Help - need to book 3 rooms

I'm planning a trip for my 4-some plus my parents and my DH's parents (8 total). We are planning on going in the fall for F&W. I'd prefer Free Dining, so I'm waiting until that is (hopefully) released to book rooms. I've never booked more than one room before, so I'm trying to get my head around what I need to do in order to book 3 rooms together. I'm taking care of everything: the booking, dining, fastpasses - partially because I am a control freak but also I just love planning these trips!

I'm playing around with MDE and it looks like I will need to have the gparents create their own MDE accounts (or I'll do it for them) and then I can add them to my Family and Friends. Can I do this ahead of time, or do I have to wait until I make the reservations? But when I go to book the rooms, do I have to do each room separately under their names or can I book all three rooms in one reservation? TIA
 
I've booked two rooms a couple of times and have never had a problem. When you call to book the reservation (which you'll have to do for more than one room instead of online booking) the cast member should be pretty helpful. I've always managed the rooms and associated fastpass and dining reservations directly from my own MDE account. They've always given me the option of having all the rooms booked under my account with my email address, or separating them out to seperate accounts. I hope this was helpful!
 
Just call to book, you will get a number, you can then enter that number and assign people to the room. You do not need anyone but you to have an MDE account. You just make a non-linked account/family member on your account with everyone's name. Actually when you make the reservations you give everyone's names so the accounts will just be made, if you don't have said people already in your account as non-linked friends.
 
Thank you! Ok, so I will need to call. And yes, I'd rather prefer everything to be under my name because I'm going to be managing everyone's dining, fastpasses, etc. But, I'll be able to assign different credit cards for charging privileges on the magic bands right? For example, my in-law's will have their card linked to their bands.
 

It is possible to manage everyone's dining and fastpasses without booking their rooms for them. Rooms can be linked by reservation numbers. I did it that way, so that I didn't have to pay for everyone's room, then get money from them. It was easier that everyone called and booked their own rooms, and we just linked the reservations when we requested connected rooms for my MIL/FIL and us, and then adjoining rooms for SIL/BIL.
