We are looking at a camper that we found through craigslist. The owner says the she is selling it via www.cooperative-yardsales.com. Has anyone ever heard of this or dealt with it? It seems kind of strange to me. Any information that anyone could be provide be helpful! Thanks in advance for your help.

I briefly checked out the web-site and while it might seem legit, there is no way I would turn over that sort of money and then wait for the title. I believe any time you buy a used vehicle you should meet the seller at the DMV and make sure you can get the title in your name before paying the seller. That's just my opinion of course and is based on how titles are transferred in SC.

Sounds like a scam to me. Did the seller also tell you that he is over seas or with a sick family member and that is why he/she/Nigerian Scammer is selling it?

A dead give away is if they say the third party requests cash or Money order.:scared1:

I just did a simple Google search: "cooperative yard sales review"
I WOULD NOT DEAL WITH ANYONE that is using it. I think they are a scam and if they aren't, anyone can say they are using them but aren't.

It might help if you post the Craigslist item.

Please be careful and good luck.

I have heard of them, but never used them. There is/was a scam site that was mimicking them. The fake site ended in co.cc instead of .com. If you do a Google search, most of this comes up. The real site is legit though.

I would pay in a form that is revokable (PayPal, some credit cards), but I think this would be fine. I'd also request a photo copy of the title in advance and run the title number through your DMV or state police. I bought one of my race trailers from someone I know. He never filed the title (only had the trailer for 3 months). When I checked the title, at least the prior 2 owners had not filed the title. It wasn't a big deal in my state, but my team manager tried to file the title in Missouri and they gave her a bunch of trouble citing tax fraud and a bunch of other garbage. The trailer has Illinois plates on it now and everybody (state wise) is happy.

come on.............

who buys big ticket items before seeing them, in person, running your hand down the sides, seeing item work, getting a feel.

never buy unseen, I give you cash (in person) I get title and unit (boat, TT, MH, motorcycle)

Anything else is just a scam

I agree to buy anything sight unseen is risky. That's why I started checking around, asking folks and searching on the internet to get the scoop before we did anything. Thankfully we used caution and didn't get any farther than just looking into it.
