HELP: My sister thinks I'm ripping her off, am I?

kidzrus: Take comfort in the fact that if your parents and bil are not big Disney fans, they will be looking for the negatives on their trip and you really don't want to be part of that. I have been going to Disney for over 20 years and have traveled with family and friends as well as with just our family. We have had some wonderful times, but the memories you have with your own family are so special and unique, you'll realize how much fun it was to go just with just your family. Just think, you will be able to come and go at your own schedule and it will make for a wonderful time. Although it may seem like fun with family, it can be hard as well trying to get everyone going at the same time, trying to make everyone happy, it's really hard. Believe me, after you and your family get there, you'll see how much fun you'll have. Being the family planner, I can tell you that most of the time, it's a thankless job and you can never make everyone happy. Sounds like you have a wonderful husband and family and there's nothing more important than that.

I think that the $5/point was an underestimation, but I also believe $10/point is not "average". I bought points twice and I paid $8/pt. once and $7.25 the other time. There was no bargaining at all involved and the two people I bought from were a pleasure to deal with.

If I ever had points to rent (which I can't imagine), I would let them go for $10 to someone I did not know. However, if it were an emergency situation as the one described and I was selling to a friend, whom I knew I could trust for the $, etc., I would definitely go lower...I would think $7-$8 would be fine.

Since this reservation includes weekend nights (high point nights), it greatly reduces the value of point-renting. I personally think charging a friend $10/pt. is too much for the several reasons I noted.
