Help my friend with ticket upgrading math

They have 7 day PH/WP&M tickets ...3 adult/1 child... if they want to upgrade to Annual Passes what is the total cost at current prices?


And is it best if they upgrade before first use or after?

It depends on whether they bought them directly from disney (and if the were bought as part of a package or seperately) or if they bought them from a third-party seller.

Also, did they buy them before or after the price increase?

Then they should definitely use them first. If they do, they will pay the difference between the current gate price of a 7 day PH/WP&M ticket and the current price of an AP. You can find the prices on the disney website.

Package tickets will get current price credit if they are used first to enter a theme park. If they were booked with resort stay before the Feb 23, 2014 ticket increase, and not used first before upgrading, they will be credited with the old price towards the AP upgrade. Direct sale tickets, such as online and will call, will not get current price credit if there has been a price increase between order date and pickup date. AP will be dated to the first day of use of the original ticket. So waiting to upgrade at a later use of the original ticket will not give one a later AP start date.

Regular AP Adult or Child $634

$634 - $410 = $224. $224 x 3 = $672 x 1.065 tax = $715.68 cost to upgrade 3 adult tickets to AP.​

$634 - $390 = $244. $244 x 1.065 tax = $259.86 cost to upgrade 1 child ticket to AP.​

Total cost 3 adults, 1 child = $715.68 + $259.86 = $975.54
