what should I do? It's a Cannon 510 that I bought about 1 yr ago @ Walmart before our move & the display screen isn't showing anything so sometimes it'll take photos & sometimes it's just a blank screen & takes no photo @ all even though it flashes & makes the sounds.....

ANWYAY...I know I can send it off to Canon & have it checked out (of course I don't have a clue where the receipt is!--if I still have it) BUT we have a baby coming in about 5 weeks & if I send it off it will never be back in time.....

This model has been replaced by a new one (of course!) I don't guess stores take cameras back like this do they??? :confused3 I haven't bought electronics like this before...but you'd think since it's clearly something wrong with it....

I guess I'll be buying some cheap camera or borrowing one when baby comes & just have to send this one off - but I DONT" WANNA!! DON"T MAKE ME!!! :sad1:

I know it sounds stupid, but have you changed the batteries? One of my cameras will still have some of it's functions but not all when the batteries are getting low. The first time it happened I thought for sure something was wrong with it. DH replaced the batteries and it was good as new...

Thanks for the thought = but yep they're new batteries....I wiah it would be that simple! OH WELL!!
I'm sure it's gonna be cheaper in the long run to buy a new camera than to pay the repair costs---we'll see.........

LCD repairs are amongst the most expensive to make on digital cameras. Most of the time cameras that are sent in for repair with a damaged LCD are simply replaced - as long as they are under warranty. Is it still under warranty? Then send it in and borrow a friends. Is it out of warranty? Buy a new one.
