My bus driver is really mean to some kids on my bus! She won't let us eat or drink on the bus because she thinks we don't know where the garbage can is.
Plus she will not stop for anyone if they're late. Someone at my stop has to walk over a block to get there(sometimes in bad weather) and one time he was halfway there and she DROVE RIGHT PAST HIM shaking her head no at him through the windsheld!!!!!! :confused3
Everyday she yells at everyone not to be late or she wont pick us up and how we will be in big trouble if we take a sip of water.
A kid was bringing a cup that held his breakfast in his hand as he got on the bus and she yelled at him for it(it was empty!) Then when he tried to throw it away she yelled at him again and told him to take it out of her garbage!?
Shes so mean!!! Why!?!?

It's her bus. You're only on it for like less than an hour a day. Just suck it up and ignore her.

you're right its not a major issue but i just thought that she was abnormally mean for a bus driver.

Maybe I am making a generalization and I really don't want to offend anyone, but bus drivers generally aren't the happiest people. Nobody ever dreams of becoming a bus driver. Just give her a break. Maybe she never got what she really wanted in life.

I've only ever met two bus drivers that let people eat on their bus (excepting athletics drivers, they usually make an exception for food on the way home from games and such). Mostly it has to do with allergies. They can't efficiently control what goes on the bus without banning it altogether. I know we can't eat or drink on morning and afternoon busses because they're so hectic and there's a girl that's super allergic to all nuts (like...she carries an epi-pen with her everywhere allergic). We can on most late busses because there are less kids on the bus and the drivers usually have time to read over the ingredients on the food before we open it.

Drinking is just because it may spill. I don't drink on busses because the roads around here are really bad.

As for stopping, some drivers just aren't allowed to. They have a strict schedule to keep. I know several students that have watched their bus drive by the end of their road without stopping. There are all sorts of rules and regulations that bus drivers need to follow.

It's a high-stress job, too. Imagine being trapped on a bus with screaming kids (teenagers, whatever) for several hours a day. You may not notice the noise because you listen to headphones or whatever (hypothetically, I don't know if you actually do), but busses get quite loud and unruly around here, especially at the end of the day.

But, I got lucky and got perhaps the single best bus driver on the face of the earth. Ryan's great. He's fun to talk with and he's down-to-earth. He just had a baby boy in October. Ryan teaches Tae Kwon Do at the middle school on weekends year round and coaches youth soccer and baseball. He's a great guy. And he's very intuitive. He knew I had a crush on my ex-boyfriend (his "protegee" I guess is the best word for what Alex was to him) before I did. And he pretty much knew I had a crush on the guy I'm quasi-dating right now before I did, too. And he's protective. I've got quite the ******* of an ex-boyfriend (not Alex. This boyfriend cheated on me pretty hardcore) and he's threatened to give him a "talking to" (to me, of course, he hasn't threatened this kid) if he ever came near me again. Seriously, I consider Ryan the older brother my older brother never was (that and his youngest sister is two years younger than me- it's instinct). And he calls me when there's no school so I don't have to get out of bed to check the cancellations.

:rotfl: That's true! I had two nice bus drivers throughout all of school.

I have always had nice bus drivers. Mine right now is our buddy since we get off last. I eat and drink and everything and she doesn't mind as long as we
clean it up.
