So far, I have kept the ultimate secret from my 3 Disney Kids -- we are going to visit Mickey on Spring Break!! :goodvibes

Now, my question is how to let them in on the news?? My DH thinks we should keep it a secret until we get there, but that is a 10 hour drive almost. Any other suggestions on how I could drop the bomb about where we are going? Have thought about some kind of a puzzler for them to figure out, but really haven't gotten very far with that.

Anyone surprise their kids with this before and when and/or how did you tell them?

we gave my niece and nephew a trip for their birthday when they were 4 & 6 - we wrapped helium balloons in a box and they opened them 9we had Dinsey themed one) and a sign that said "you're going to Dinsey World!"

You could do that and put a car activity pack with disney themed items in a bag for each of them

at some point on the drive they will figure out where you are headed but wouldn't it be more fun to have a BIG moment instead of them slowly figuring it out?

At least HALF the fun is knowing and planning and asking questions ahead of time. You're having fun with the plans right? Don't take that part of the fun away from them. Anticipation is all it's cracked up to be! Give them something to be excited about and brag about. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am not sure exactly how we're going to do it, but we are telling them on Easter... maybe through an Easter Egg Hunt type of thing, where different eggs have diff. Disney themed stuff... or even, just a word of a sentence... "We're Going To Disney World!"
