then i can come and get my job i have been trying and its hard work so if anyone has any advice please tell me
:earboy2: i want to be on those ships and meet you great people :earsgirl: :jumping1:

Could you clarify the 4 stone? I am assuming it's weight related. If so....just exercise a bit, cut out your junk food, lighten up or eliminate pasta, white bread, potatoes, and white rice. You should be on the boat in no time!

You might look at the WISH board (one of the other boards here on the disboards). It's for people who want to lead a healthier life stlye. Good luck to you!

Isn't that discriminatory to tell you that you need to lose that weight before you can get hired?
Certainly you can be a wonderful youth counselor at any size :D

Did they give you a specific reason as to why you needed to lose the weight?

Hey Kim,

I don't know the reason for a weight requirement but it might have to do with uniform sizes and the size (small) of crew quarters. I would suggest you spend a LOT of time going up and down stairs. When DD was a kids counselor she lived on deck A (1 below deck 1) and worked on deck 5. CMs don't use the guest elevators so she usually took the stairs since they didn't have elevators from deck A to deck 1 and the crew elevators from deck 1 to 5 were less convenient.

The kids clubs are on deck 5 and they take the kids to eat lunch on deck 4 and dinner on deck 9. There are too many kids to fit in the elevators so they ALWAYS go up and down the stairs. They also go up and down the stairs to get to the deck 10 sports deck and any where else they take the kids.

DD was in pretty good shape before she started but said the first several weeks the stairs were tough until she got in even better shape.

It's a fun and rewarding job but it IS physically demanding.

:earseek: THANK YOU FOR ALL THE ADVISE
i do understand why they want me too loose the weight but i am quite a healthy fit person so i am finding it ultra hard.
i really do want this job and think i would be good at it. :cheer2:
