DH and I are going 8/28-9/1. We arrive mid day on Thus, 8/28 and leave around 6pm on 9/1, which is a Monday. (Labor Day, I think) We've been multiple times, first for our honeymoon, then multiple times with our kids. We're going now to celebrate our 15th anniversary.

I'm such a planner, and I am stumped for this trip. I'm in a rut of planning what the kids would like, and now don't know where to begin planning for adults!! I know I want to eat at some places we've never tried, and we're staying at YC. Beyond that, I don't know where to begin, but I need to make my ADR's soon...esp. if free dining is announced. Any ideas? Anyone need a trip planning 'fix' that can help me?

We want to try LeCellier, Whispering Canyon, California Grill (what time ADR to see Wishes?), and maybe Beaches and Cream just for fun.

I know, what a dilemma, right? But please take pity and make some recommendations!! I want DH and I to have a great time, just w/out the kids.

How Sweet! I would loooooove to help you out!HA!! We loved Beaches & Cream-but if it's just the 2 of you, that might be better for lunch, or just ice creams. It's very close and kinda loud in there--not toooo romantic! Le Cellier is good- they get filled up pretty quickly, so you may want to start ADR asap. We loved the Rose&Crown at the UK-awesome food and atmosphere. I love the Biergarten in Germany, but I know some people didn't like the food at all. It's buffet and what I call 'farm food'-potato salads, rotiss.chicken, and for dessert-real florentine cookies!! How I wish I could eat there tonight!! Yum!
We also go to Nine Dragons in China every trip, but they should be under refurb. when you go. You can always check and make sure.
One thing that we app. about the Beach(&Yacht)Club is that at night we can just walk to such great countries to eat!! Well, have a happy anniv. and TRY not to stress on the plans. We are one year behind ya! Our 14th is in 2 weeks-hey maybe he wants to take just me to WDW for ours!!!!

I think this question about Disney Restaurants would get the best answer over the Restaurants and Dining board.. as such, I'll be moving this there.

Thanks!

Knox

We're going the same time to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

And our story is very similar, we've been many times with the kids (not for our honeymoon, but we did get engaged at WDW ;) ) and wanted to try some spots we haven't been yet.

Our plans include staying at the BCV & adding the Deluxe Dining Plan.

ADRs for...

Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner)
Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast on our actual anniversary)
Narcoosee's (dinner on our actual annivesary)
Tutto Italia or Coral Reef (lunch)
Chef de France (dinner)
Cape May Cafe (breakfast)
The Flying Fish (dinner)
LeCellier (lunch)

We figure we won't spend as much time on attractions as we would with the kids so we'll have a more relaxed pace and time to spend at long dinners with appetizers and dessert (so we chose the deluxe plan).

We will still do our favorites and plan on catching the night time show/fireworks as well. It is our first time at the BC so we want to spend time at Stormalong Bay which should be very doable with the hot weather.

Doing the character meals less for the characters and more for 1) Cape May -- staying at BC we want to check out what it has to offer and 2) CRT -- I like the idea of spending our anniversary in Cinderella Castle.

I do recommend LeCellier. It will be our third time there and we have enjoyed our meals very much. I also think CG is a great idea -- I wish I could have fit it in as well. I have read to make a reservation about 2.5-3 hours before Wishes.

Personally, I would skip Whispering Canyon and do that one with the kids. My two enjoy the atmosphere here, but the last two visits have really left me with a not so good impression (poor service, okay food). Totally worth it for the kids to enjoy, but even that is not the same as when we first started going there. There are many others I would choose to eat at with my husband. Just my two cents.

We may hit Beaches and Creme as well since we've never been. Maybe a quick lunch when we arrive or maybe just for ice cream.

Other ideas include...tours (Segway around World Showcase or Backstage at Magic Kingdom), watercraft rental at marina, sampling drinks around World Showcase. If you or your husband have any desire, the Richard Petty Driving Experience is a lot of fun (my DH has done the driving, I did the ride-a-long) but $$$. We have also done the carriage ride at POR and that we quite nice -- although the kids & my DM were along for that one.

Okay...enough! I hope you have a great anniversary celebration!!

Hi, my husband and I are going the end of this month, so no "free dining" for us. But this trip is being planned with his 60th birthday in mind and our 31st anniversary.

I've done all the ADR's and we really enjoy fine dining and good restaurants, so after much ado and checking and re-checking this is what we came up with:

Rose and Crown for Illuminations

1900 Park Faire for a Character Breakfast then over to the Photo Pass people to have nice pics taken of us with the GF as the backdrop
That evening we go to Hoop De Du Revue

California Grill with ADR's "designed" so that we'll see Wishes from a table there.

LeCellier for lunch instead of dinner just to change it up a bit.

Raglan Road for a dinner.

Brown Derby with the Fantasmic dinner package.

Boma for Breakfast one morning and Breakfast at the Poly one morning

We're also going to go to Fulton's Crab House

Artist Pointe at Wilderness Lodge our last night.

We are breakfast people and dinner people (8:00pm or later) and really could care less about lunch so this will work perfectly for us. We can either get counter service in one of the parks or back at the resort.

We can sleep in a little and relax during the day in the parks or at the resort.

Hope this helps. We also have tickets to get SeaRacers at POR through our AAA package.

Whatever you do, relax and have fun and Happy Anniversary!:lovestruc

What time should ADR's be in order to see Wishes near your mealtime???

Where is Ragland Road, and what type of food?? I am not familiar with this one.

One more question, what is at Artist Point?

I have read about 2.5 hours prior to Wishes, but have never done it myself.

Ragland Road is in the Pleasure Island section at Downtown Disney. It is an Irish Pub and Restaurant.

Artist Point is a signature dining location in the Wilderness Lodge. We ate dinner there on our 8th anniversary and it was a very good meal. Quite atmosphere as well. My DH tried Buffalo for the first time (very good) and the beef tenderloin was excellent as were the salad and portebello soup.

Teacup 317, I tried to pm you but it wouldn't let me. Could you pm me or something so I can ask you about Maine? Thanx ever so!!
