DH and I would like to rent a cabin in N GA (Blue Ridge maybe?) around Christmastime. We are not familiar with the area but it was suggested to us. We would like something with a Gatlinburg TN feel but a shorter drive (we are in N FL). Our baby will be about 8 months at the time so shorter drive times are desired! We like to have shopping and sight-seeing nearby and plenty of restaurant choices. I was happy to see there is a well-known quilt shop in the area (it's my hobby) but need recs on a specific area (or even different town) and possibly rental groups to check out online. I'd like to spend no more than $700 or so on the cabin for 4-5 nights. We have 10 months to plan but I start early.
