I could post this on one of the parks forums but figure there is enough knowledge here, and this is where I spend most of my time :-)

I‘d like to try to surprise my kid with a day at Hollywood studios/Galaxy’s edge before our wish cruise in August. im thinking we’d fly down wednesday evening, hit the park Thursday, and head to the port Friday morning. Couple Questions for the experts…

- would caribbean beach resort be a good option for us? The sky tram or whatever seems convenient. We actually don’t usually stay on property but for galaxys edge it seems important…
- best option for getting the airport to the resort, and approximate cost (if any)? We’d probably be coming in around 7:30 pm which i hate doing (don’t like arriving somewhere late) but flights and work will make it necessary.
- best option for getting from the resort to the cruise, and approximate cost? We’ve used spaceport transport from the airport to the port which has been fine but I don’t know if there’s a better option coming from an on-property resort
- for galaxys edge seems like we just buy our tickets and then we’ll probably add genie+ for smugglers run (and other rides) and lightning lane for rise of the resistance? Then we’d have to get into the app at 7 am to actually use the lightning lane to book ROTR? Is that all correct?

thanks in advance for advice and suggestions.

Yes, I would say Caribbean Beach Resort is a good resort and the skyway is very convenient.

We have used both Mears Connect ($16 per person) and Sunshine Flyer ($17 per person) from the airport to the resort. You need to gather your luggage and bring it with you on the bus. Mears is a little more organized right now. You can book on their websites.

For getting to the port, I have always enjoyed using DCL bus transportation directly from the resort. Not sure of the current rate though. You can book transportation directly with DCL.

You need to purchase park tickets and make a park reservation for Hollywood Studios on the day you wish to visit. Genie+ will get you a Lightning Lane for Millennium Falcon and other attractions, but you will have to pay an additional amount per person for a ROTR Lightning Lane on top of Genie+. I think its about $14 right now. Yes, you have to be on the app at 7 AM.

Hope that helps. Have fun!

Or rope drop Thursday morning and join the rush to ROTR. About 30- 60 min wait if you do early magic hours and are at rope drop. Milk Falcon has no wait in the am so if you are doing just galaxy edge don’t buy genie plus but buy your ROTR LL pass at 7 then enter park and stroll to Mil falcon. You could do it 2 times easy. Make a dining reservation for Ogas as well 60 days out . If you want to do other rides at Hollywood then yes do genie plus and use it for the othe rides.
Skyline can be hit or miss for early entry so you will have to give your self 30 min cushion or just Uber to Hollywood.
